Which do you prefer? Personally, I like the smaller stuff.

The XL, I didn't even consider the 3DS until I saw the XL model because the base one was way too small. The 3DS XL I have actually has a bigger screen then the PSP on the top, so it works nicely for someone who has bad eyesight.
The XL is objectively better in almost every single way. Its pixel density, however, does suffer a bit as there's pretty much no other device created in the past decade with as hideous, chunky pixels.DJ_Lae
I think anyone who lived through the NES or SNES eras can deal with that though
It's a personal prefernce, but once I bought an XL I haven't touched my regular 3DS. I don't even have large hands, but I find the XL more suitable to hold and I don't notice any difference in how the games look compared to on the regular 3DS. The battery life also comes into play, but neither compare to the DS line :(.Â
Just uprgaded from my launch 3DS to blue 3DS XL. I like the blue better than I thought but it doesn't matter that much, so long as the inside is black. The screen is super nice and I have no qualms about it other than it being a  little yellow-ish when power save is enabled. Battery life is noticably better. It could still last longer than 7 hours but I have no real complaints. Wish the 3DS was like this at launch
For those with an XL, on average, how long can you play your XL without having to charge the battery?
Does the XL come with a docking station?

No docking station. I don't have specific numbers but it feels like I get about 1 hour + on my XL
I wanna get an XL, but I feel like Nintendo is going to suddenly launch another special edition XL in the near future :P.Â
