Which do you prefer? Personally, I like the smaller stuff.

3DS XL

People who like small screens confuse me, someone who's like "oh I don't want that 60 inch TV, this 24 inch is perfect"

I guess it's that low self esteem "I shouldn't have nice things" mentality.

Bigger is better, more is more

The XL, I didn't even consider the 3DS until I saw the XL model because the base one was way too small. The 3DS XL I have actually has a bigger screen then the PSP on the top, so it works nicely for someone who has bad eyesight.

I had the original 3ds, but when the XL came out and I was able to use see it at gamestop on display.. I traded mine in and upgraded. Way better than the original IMO.

My 3DS (regular size) strains my hands and eyes when I play it. But I love the way it looks, it's the blue fire emblem edition, so all pain caused is forgiven. If I was in the market to buy a 3DS now, I'd most probably get the 3DSXL.

I like the 3DSxl because of the bigger screen but I have pretty small hands so it's a little more awkward to hold.

Screen size is never a issue for me. It's the battery life. 3DS XL lasts longer, therefore it's my choice

The XL is objectively better in almost every single way. Its pixel density, however, does suffer a bit as there's pretty much no other device created in the past decade with as hideous, chunky pixels.

surely 3DS XL, larger screen, no smudge on cover, but the original 3ds has a better speaker though.

I think anyone who lived through the NES or SNES eras can deal with that though

It's a personal prefernce, but once I bought an XL I haven't touched my regular 3DS. I don't even have large hands, but I find the XL more suitable to hold and I don't notice any difference in how the games look compared to on the regular 3DS. The battery life also comes into play, but neither compare to the DS line :(.

xl, better screen, battery life, 3 sturdy clickable screen locations while open, less meshing buttons. 100% better

3DS XL. Better D-pad, better buttons, more comfortable to hold, giant screens.

I prefer the original. I like how it fits in your pocket. I also like the colors of the original 3DS way better. Midnight Purple ftw. The XL is more comfortable to hold, but it's not too big of an issue for me. I might upgrade to an XL in the future when they get more colors and a price drop, though.

Just uprgaded from my launch 3DS to blue 3DS XL. I like the blue better than I thought but it doesn't matter that much, so long as the inside is black. The screen is super nice and I have no qualms about it other than it being a  little yellow-ish when power save is enabled. Battery life is noticably better. It could still last longer than 7 hours but I have no real complaints. Wish the 3DS was like this at launch

For those with an XL, on average, how long can you play your XL without having to charge the battery?

Does the XL come with a docking station?

No docking station. I don't have specific numbers but it feels like I get about 1 hour + on my XL

I don't have the XL but it is better. I can't play my original 3DS for very long because my hands cramp up when using it.

There's some mixed messaging going on in this topic. Some are saying the XL's screen is better while others are saying the larger screen makes the games look worse. Are you saying it's better just because it's bigger?
