And I'm talking GB Micro small.

Why?

Because as long as Nintendo doesn't care about implimenting phone, or many other features of other devices into their handhelds the DS is just going to add far too much weight to my pants

I've recently been playing Minish Cap on my DS, and just switched it over to my Micro because of the form factor. Now it fits in my pockets properly with my phone, wallet, keys, etc. I don't own an mp3 player or anything, or camera, or anything, but I feel bad for those who do.

I'm an average 6 foot tall white person, and as such my hands are big, but the sacrifice of a little comfort to actually be able to bring my games with me without draggin my pants to the floor is totally worth it.

I would love to see a 3DS Mini whether it's standard, or a different edition. Have it be just as small as the Micro if possible, and make it flip open so the screen stays protected since that's the biggest drawback to the Micro. I own the Special 20th Anniversary Edition Famicom-themed Micro.

Smaller and sleeker is better anyways. Everyone knows it.

And not only is this the sexiest Nintendo handheld ever created, but it is the overall sexiest handheld ever created. Who wouldn't want that, but of course with a second screen? I know I would line up on the surface of Mercury if it meant getting it day one regardless of melting.

It's backwards compatible with the DS. Micro small is a no-no.

I just got a DS lite today, and honestly it even feels a bit big to bring with me in my pants pocket. That being said I wouldn't want the creen to be any smaller than it already is. Even though small is nice, I'm still going to hold off the 3DS for a year or 2, and wait for an XL since my DS lite can be my portable and my 3DS the home/car trip type thing

A portable system doesn't necessarily mean a "pocket" system. I've always played my handhelds in the house 98% of the time. I consider handhelds to be "personal" alternatives to the home console. You can sit anywhere and play without bothering other people. The whole pocket-portable thing seems to be mostly applicable to young kids... keep them occupied at the restaurant, while on errands with mom and such. Face it, you don't see many teens and adults playing handhelds in public; portability aspect there seems limited to vacations and such.

The DS Lite is a perfect pocket fit for me. 3DS is out of the question.

it would be hard to make it smaller as is without any ergonomic impacts, i think the design could be improved with a more organic shape.

Are you crazy? Thats like 2 inches per screen! I'll be disappointed if they are less than the XL, and I know they will be. I love those big screens!

So sacrifice portability because you probably won't use it anyways?

If it was small you could still play in the living room. I play my Micro in bed, or in my living room, but if I go to a friend's house it's a perfect fit to bring along with my other junk.

But the gameboy micro wasn't backwards compatible with older gameboy games. ;)
The micro lost many functions for being so small. If I remember correctly, the micro couldn't use that link cable...
The SP was small enough, making it even smaller was pointless...

If the 3DS does become micro size, it won't be able to play DS games... and IT IS confirmed that it WILL PLAY DS games.

Can you imagine the size of the screens?! How awkward and difficult will it be to use the touchscreen? Or play games like Ninja Gaiden?! O__o

What about the speakers? Will it be loud enough? Will the microphone fit? o___O

Have you also forgotten that many adults play DS games like Brian Age or America's Test Kitchen game thing(:P)? They will NEED bigger screens to read and write!! Also, from DSiXL to micro sized 3DS is a total let down. Many will have a more enjoyable time with an XL than this 3DS.

Nintendo has learned from their past and will not limit their handheld for making it smaller than it is suppose to be. They have already brought many adults to their consoles and won't make them wait a few years for a bigger model of the 3DS because it's too small.

Can't fit it in your pockets? Grab a bag or something... Put it in your suitcase or bookbag.

I would like it to be small, but not too small like the micro, small is good though.

No, it's the other way around. Don't sacrifice screen size for something that a large part of the consumers won't use anyway.

If it was micro small, I wouldn't play because I wouldn't buy it. The Lite alrealdy makes my hand get numb because it's format isn't THAT comfortable. And I can't picture myself playing something like Metroid Prime with screens even smaller. Actually, these two reasons were exactly why I didn't even take a look at the Micro.

I think it will be about DSi size, I hope however they do it thats its different enough that I'd rather play DS game on my DSi. What a surprise!!!! I don't want nintendo to taylor 3DS to make it better for DS games.

i don't think the 3ds should be smaller than a normal ds considering the fact that most people got eye strain from the micro... :P

yeah, because making two screens, each of them bigger than a GBmicro, and adding buttons and hardware, are just details.
