It has an awesome feel about it (to me) like the 64, but the graphics are way better. the graphics are in some ways better than the gamecube. I would say the system pulls of wiiish graphics, worse in some ways, better in others.
I thought the old DS was n64 like. I'd really hope this new 3ds is better. I havent really seen any videos. AutoPilotOn
Super Mario 64 DS was actually rebuilt and looked better than the N64, and that was the original DS, so this one is gonna be at least if not more powerful than the Cube.
I hope it's more like the Gamecube... And I hope things run more smoothly than on the DS. I don't like it when things "jump" across my screen, I like it when they "slide".Aquat1cF1sh
Never noticed things "jump" across the screen on DS, but that is ENTIRELY up to the developer if you are talking about framerates/bugs. As far as graphics, there is no hoping about it, they are in some ways better than the Wii and in some a bit worse. Overall you can expect games to look around gamecube to Wii quality.
I think you're getting the terms "DS" and "3DS" confused here, the DS was like having a portable N64, 3DS is definitely a step up from that.

MGS, resident evil and street fighter still shock me. BTW... blazblue continuum shift 2 looks as good as the PS3 version too.http://www.nin3ds.net/2010/10/nintendo-3ds-vs-xbox-360-vs-nintendo-wii-vs-playstation-2-vs-psp-vs-nintendo-64/

No the DS is some where in the middle of the PSone and N64, theres no games on DS that look better than what the N64 did, Mario 64, Turok 2, Perfect dark, Banjo, Conker and zelda. The 3DS going by the video's looks like a portable gamecube[QUOTE="Prince_Denspion"][QUOTE="AutoPilotOn"]I thought the old DS was n64 like. I'd really hope this new 3ds is better. No (besides the obvious reason of no 3DS game card slot, the N64 cant even begin to handle its graphics). Besides Dead or Alive, the 3DS also has other games that do a fine job in my oppinon of showing off Gamecube/wii-ish graphics, some look close to early HD console twin graphics too.
Obviously, some games might not have great graphics, but those are likely going to come from the 3rd party devs that dont put much if any work into the visuals.
Portable Gamecube/Wii (since the Wii is just a slightly more powerful GC)
History of Nintendo Portables for you:
Gameboy Color = Nintendo Entertainment System
Gameboy Advance = Super Nintendo
DS = N64
3DS = Gamecube
LoserMike
You are right, except I am pretty sure the Advance was actually stronger than the SNES and the 3DS looks better overall than the cube.

Yeah, the Advance was more like a Sega 32x or Atari Jaguar (in terms of hardware capabilities that is).
The graphics and games make me think so.Tony-BaxterYou really need to see it for real. Is not anything near N64, nor even GC. Patience as March is not too far and, as I understand, there will be some tours in US and Europe Regards
The N64 was more powerful, the DS games suffer from low res textures and look really pixelated

As I'm playing Spirit Tracks right now, all I can say is that those screenshots don't do it justice.

I agree. Spirit Tracks is arguably the best looking DS title out there. Especially the underwater portions. Although I would still say that the N64 was more powerful considering I think OoT is too much for it to handle.The 3DS graphics just blow me away, they are amazing. They are definitely like the Gamecube graphics.

don't do justice? that last screenshot was enlarged, compressed and re enlarged at least 5 times to make the best looking DS game look like that. also, lol at low res textures *glares at OoT*[QUOTE="ThePlothole"][QUOTE="Supabul"]The N64 was more powerful, the DS games suffer from low res textures and look really pixelated

*32MB was the limit until late in the system's life, when Nintendo introduced 64MB carts. Whereas the DS started out with 128MB cards and eventually worked up to 512MB.
