If RE5 was to be released it would be a spin-off to the PS3 and Xbox titles, as the Wii doesn't have enough power to play it. On top of that for the amount of money it would cost Capcom to downgrade this they would struggle to make a profit from it. Josh_3691

Simple economics, they want money and RE5 on the PS3/360 wont pay for itself. Reusing the RE4 engine to make a version of Dead Rising for the Wii shows how comitted they are to the console.

My guess is.. it will come... probably a few months after it's release on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.

Resident Evil 4 hit most platforms last-gen, why wouldn't 5?

RE5 is just a HD version of RE4. Same animations, same gameplay ( seriously, shooting trucks, hide in a house and defend yourself from the zombie masses, etc. - nothing new - except for more action and even less ''horror'' ) and especially on Wii it would be RE4.5

in my opinion, i think RE5 will come,

because:

-the success of RE4 port on the Wii, i think they would also consider that especially when the PS3 & Xbox360 version sales become high

-i think it would be easier to downgrade something than to upgrade something, imagine if dead rising is possible on the Wii, they could also put effort of porting RE5 on the Wii but i could take them months/or year.

i think they are just focused right now on the deadline that they have to meet which is the PS3 & Xbox360 version. because some of multiplatform games that has Wii version needs to hire another developer to work on(like the Alone in the Dark and Force Unleashed on Wii) and i think that is not Capcom's style because it is expensive.

I agree. an RE game will definitely come to the Wii, but for RE5 to come, that probably won't happen, maybe... just maybe...

People seem to think it'd be destroyed on Wii. Seeing as the Wii can do twice what the Gamecube did with RE4, it wouldn't be much different from a 'downgrade' between PS3 and 360.

And more importantly, Wii owners have proven they want Resident Evil, as the franchise has already sold more than 3 million units on the system, from a game being ported to its fourth system and an on-rails shooter.

Capcom ports like crazy too, Dead Rising is coming, RE4 has been ported a ton (as said), Okami was ported, the first three Resident Evils were ported all over the place, and Nintendo ends up getting many of their games. I think it's more a matter of time, not a debate.

Honestly i dont even think capcom knoes if they want to do RE5 on wii the desier to put games on the wii is there with Okami RE:UC Dead Rising and Madworld but im not sure if they no if they are or arent going to do it same with SF4. I think they will have a much better idea as to if they are doing it or not after Dead Rising is relased and the sales come inwebbut

Resident Evil 5 is using Resident Evil 4's engine. haven't u seen in gameplay demos how baddies still walk into walls. a mob of angry ppl run at u only to slow down 3 feet before u? plz! dumbest A.I. ever! ohhh, they stood up the ladder i knocked down! i dont even know if i want resident evil 4.2 to come wii just coz its such a rehash darth-pyschosis

The enemies in Resident Evil 4 are "parasitically-controlled humans referred to as Los Ganados." They are susposed to be slow and stupid. It might be just me but I really enjoy blasting a "zombie-like" human's head off as they walk towards me. When playing RE4 I felt like I was doing the world a favour by getting rid of these parasitic infested beings.

dude you have got to be kidding me, why would you even buy an inferior version of the game in the first place. second this game isnt coming out for the wii, third the ps2 version of re4 existed b/c it wasnt that much of a downgrade and it would sell alot more anyways. just give up. ur not playing it unless u get a ps3/360 version

You are definately in the wrong forum. This is just speculation anyways so please just let it go. I myself am pretty sure it has a very VERY slim chance of happening, but it's fun to wonder at the possibilities.

I think it could happen since they are porting Dead Rising, but will they do it? I dunno.

Plus, everyone out there has the sterotype of "Wii is a kiddy/family" system. stuck in their heads. This game has been getting alot of attention because of the setting/characters, so would Capcom like the publicity? It could be good news for both Capcom/Nintendo publicly, but it could also go very wrong.

Oh and RE4 was the worst RE game by far! Brilliant game still but still a lousy RE game.

People who are so closed minded this day in age still astound me. A few months ago, there was a forum about the possibility of a GTA coming to the WII, maybe GTA 4. At the very start, the scared PS3 and XBOX 360 fanboys who have already been losing the console war were quick to declare not only would GTA 4 would never come too the Wii, but they made the fantastic proclamation that Nintendo would NEVER allow a GTA game on any of their systems, that they were to kiddie and so forth. I simply said that saying something never would happen is simply ingnorrant. Now GTA is appearing on the WII and don't think for a second that it is Rocksta's only plan for Nintendo's system. That being said, I go back too the analogy I made before. When you think about games being ported from one system to another and people who say it can't be done, I promise you, if they can take the heart out of a dead person and put it into a dying person to give them life, you begin to realize how stupid the argument is that you can't make ports on to other systems. Looking at all the videos of Resident Evil 5, I saw so many similarities too RE4 it was almost like watching the same game. Heck, even the villagers hold their weapons the same way in RE 4 and 5. SO a port of RE5 seems even more likely then GTA appearing on a Nintendo system. It may or may not happen, but the fact is, to say something won't happen for sure exposes your fear of it actually happening.
