iwas useing 60hz setting on my hdtv and it was ghosting the image(i posted about this befor) then i decided id try 50hz and the ghosting went away, isnt 60hz ment to be better,i always thaught it was, i dont have the hd cables by the way linkinwormyeah i'm not to sure about all this 50 and 60hz stuff for the uk and europe. Mine is set at 50hz because it looks better and its a higher resolution its like 510p or something. so what advantage do we get when on the 60hz setting? do the games run faster?
And, why haven't you ordered a pair of Wii component cables yet? You're not getting any benefit from the HDTV by having it hooked up with regular old composite cables. The Wii actually looks worse on an HDTV without component, so snag a pair and enjoy the sexyness of a 480p image.
Once you do this, I'm guessing 60hz mode will look better, though I'm not an expert when it comes to that topic.
50hz does indeed look slightly better(because it's a higher resolution). But with a RGB/Component cable 50 hz isn't worth bothering with, because it runs too slow.Runs to slow? The game will run at 25 fps no matter if you use composit, s-video, rgb or component video.

This is common in the PC realm, and since I game on Wii and PC, I can help out. T3H_1337_N1NJ4 was completely correct. In addition, the "ghosting" that you are getting at 60Hz is actually to be blamed on your TV's response time. I'm betting you have an LCD screen. In PC gaming, you need an LCD with a response time of 8ms (milliseconds) or lower. I'd bet that your response time is 16ms or greater, which is visually apparent at 60Hz. PC freaks like myself tend to get screens with 120Hz refresh rates with 2ms response time. How else is one going to pwn 24/7?Dust24311I'm not quite sure if that's totally correct... LCD screens don't have "refresh rates," only response times. each pixel in an LCD switches to a certain color and stays that way until it has to change. There is no phosphorus like on a CRT, that has to be constantly bombarded with electrons a certain number of times per second, therefore creating the "refresh rate." So... how's that LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate and 2ms response time? :P
