A better Wii for tomorrow

Has anyone heard if Nintendo is developing a Wii with a better graphics engine? I got Metroid Prime 3 in the mail from Gamefly today and was disappointed in the graphocs compared to my PS3. They looked like Game Cube graphics. I know it wasn't built for awesome graphics but that doesn't mean that the newer version can't have better graphics.The_profeshenal

You're just too busy counting the leaves on the trees in your PS3 games to care about the difference between the Wii and the Gamecube.

Sure, but it's the same old formula. I love & own a 360 but it provides a standard gaming formula (which is in no way a bad thing). The Wii on the other hand is a trailblazer when it comes to gaming. Sigh, I guess that I come from an age where control was king (8-bit NES) and I never expected my console to have the same graphics as the arcade. I just enjoyed the game for the fun it brought and graphics were a nice (but not) a necessary feature priority.

Where is this gen franchise revolution? N64 had Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time, GC has Metroid Prime. The Wii has?

The only thig the Wii has had this gen so far is last gen games with motion-control, not that that's a bad thing but not really revolutionary.

The PS3 and 360 has Adventure games (Assassins Creed, Uncharted), action games ( Ninja Gaiden, Devil may cry), Racing simulators ( Forza, Gran Turismo), Arcade Racers (GriD, Burnout Paradise), Horror games ( Dead Rising, Siren), Platformers ( Ratchet and clank, Kameo), FPS (Halo, Call of Duty 4), TPS ( Gears of War), Strategy games ( CaC 3, Red Alert 3), JRPGs (Lost Odyssey, Disgaea 3), WRPGs (Oblivion, Too Human), Puzzle games (Lumines, Lemmings), Indie Games ( Braid, The Last Gay).

Is that enough genres for you?

It's common knowledge that the Wii is the weakest console this gen isn't it?

That doesn't mean it's not a kickass system with superb games. The PS2 was the weakest last gen yet it was clearly the best of them.

Gameplay is much more important than graphics that is obviously true but the Wii doesn't really have anything that makes it clearly better gameplaywise just like the PS3 and 360 doesn't have that either.

First you need to seperate between style/art design and technology. On the technology side, Wii loses every time... but, if you look at the design: amount of new environments and characters (i.e. not recycled assets), complexity of designs, and overall keeping the aesthetic consistent with the games story,theme and gameplay; Metroid, as well as many other games on wii, are very beautiful games.

1.) You do lack reading comprehension. That's not my opinion, it's what I've come up with after you've misread several of my posts in such a short time span.

2.) If I start talking to a Blockbuster employee, and then I say all Blockbuster employees are idiots, who's going to be offended? The Blockbuster employee you're talking to? Yeahp, you're right.

3.) The only genre I like on the other consoles are the RPG's. Are you going to start telling me what I can and cannot like?
