I just can't call these racing or kongo games sequels. I think we need a new donkey kong 64. Who's with me?

I actually never really thought DK 64 was very good *hides behind shield*, but I liked the direction DK jungle beat took the series into wich was a fresh take on the series since i always felt rare pushed DK aside for a bunch of side kicks i didn't care about when all i wanted to do was play as donkey kong.
To the OP: I really don't know what everyone else here is talking about, but I'm with you. I heard rumors from a post by a Rare employee on Rare's UK web site that Rare might be willing to get back with Nintendo to make a Donkey Kong Country 4, but I also heard that since Microsoft has a controlling share in Rare last I heard, that probably will never happen. I wouldn't put much stock in these rumors (especially since I can no longer find the web site I saw it on), but it would be very very nice if it could happen some day. Even if it were just 2D. Good to see another DK64 fan though; it was my very first console game and remains one of, if not my all time, favorite game ever made.
Donkey Kong platformers ended when Rare stopped making them. If you want to try to beat bring Rare back then be my guest.wiifan001Donkey Kong is a Nintendo IP, they don't need rare to make a new DK game. A good Donkey Kong platformer is long overdue, here's to hoping we see something at E3:)
Yes it is. Even though Nintendo never handled production of a DK platformer, as far as I remember, they could obviously do a great job with the character. It saddens me to see such an important mascot star on average music games instead of being on bigger adventure games where he belongs.
I liked Donkey Kong 64 due to its huge amount of stuff to collect and the use of the five characters but I think it could have been better.

Nintendo has not, however, made a platformer since before the time of Rare. Nintendo has abandoned the Donkey Kong platformers. If Rare were still here and had rights to DK franchise, they'd probably be making more DK platformers. And...pleeeeeaaaase don't put any kind of hopes on E3 or pretty much anything. Wouldn't want you to be disappointed ;)
I would think a big gorilla in a red tie with a little monkey in a baseball cap sidekick would be right down the alley of appealing to a large audience:p I just cant imagine Nintendo leaving a big IP like DK lying on the shelf in a generation where they are drowning in money:-/It'll be awesome if they do a new DKC like the snes titles, but Nintendo don't care much for this franchise, specially now that they're focus on this "casual thing" and NOA only care about publish things like "Wii something".:P

yeah it has the appealing and all things, but i don't think they'll do a new game of Donkey Kong like DKC at least not the studio of Mario Galaxy for example, could be done for another company but on top of that we have Miyamoto who don't like Donkey Kong Country.

I had not heard that Miyamoto doesnt like DKC, thats unfortunate. However, I just cant see Nintendo not capitalizing on something with well-recognized broad appeal. The Wii is built on the idea of broad appeal. The Donkey Kong games have always done well in the U.S., and I would expect some decent Euro support as well (The Donkey Kong animated series was very popular over there during its duration). Wishful thinking maybe, but Donkey Kong seems made for motion controls :'(I would be very interested in a new DK platforming game...I absolutely loved DK64
On the other hand, I have no interest in DK rhythm games. I have a feeling I am in the majority in this regard.
i'm not sure how I feel about Dk64, I've really only played the multiplayer but I do completely agree that a 3d platformer should be made and the team behind mario galaxy should be the ones to make it.
