I'm looking for a good game with a long play time.

I clocked in about 70 hours on pokemon and i'm looking for something about that length again (if possible).

about how many hours of playtime are in: Advance Wars: Dual Strike, The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, or The World Ends With You? or does anyone else have any suggestions?

I put more than 100 hours into Final Fantasy Tactics A2, that game was definitely worth $40, extremely long (I've only done 200 of 300 quests). Haven't played dual strike but I played days of ruin and that can be very long if you get into it, watch some videos and if you like what you see then it'll be long. Phantom Hourglass isn't the longest DS game out there, but a very good one. Don't know anything about The World Ends With You, but if you liked pokemon you'll enjoy FF Tactics A2. :)

I have like 180 hours on pokemon XD. But to answer your question, Animal Crossing is a good game, it can last up to 100 hours if you try to collect everything / pay off all the debt.

I heard "The World Ends with You" is an amazing game. Every single review I've watched/read has nothing but positive things to say. Animal Crossing: Wild World is a GREAT game as well. I have had that game ever since it's release, and well, I still pick it up to play when boredom hits :D

Nintendogs, seriously, there's such a great concept and its really fun to take care of your little virtual puppy and teach him tricks!

You only have 70 hrs on Pokemon?? I have nearly 400hrs on Diamond. I got too caught up in EV training and breeding the right natures.

Hopefully when the new Fire Emblem comes out it will be just as long as the ones for the GBA.

While the concept is great it doesn't fit the original poster's requirement much.

Basically you are limited to doing a few things only, namely feeding/cleaning your dog, training your dog to do tricks, rambling with your dog in the park, joining competitions. That's it!

Your dog won't grow big or get old.
Your dog won't get sick or die.
Your dog won't get "married" or pregnant.
There is no special event or scene to keep sucking you in or keep you refreshing.
In short, a lot of dog-related activities and incidents that we want to see are skipped.

Nintendogs is an innovative game which makes use of Nintendo DS features. The developers create an interesting formula but they didn't develop to the full. What a waste! It's okay if you just play this game shortly each day (so you won't feel monotonous or get bored too fast). It's probably not if you want a more in-depth or diverse simulation dog game, or long-lasting play time.

Of those 3, I would say Advance Wars has the longest play time. For me, each mission lasted between 30min-1hr (this is after the "tutorial" missions). As people above stated, check out FF Tactics or Disgaea. Both are turn-based strategy, not RPG, but you could invest tons of hours into each. For RPGs, there's hardly any I can think of that could exceed 50hours (even with power leveling).

Since there's no real savegame timer on both Legend of Zelda and TWEWY, I'll make a guess or two... Not sure about Advance Wars, but probably 20 hours, recorded (that is, minus the time you have to put it down after being stumped) time for Legend of Zelda. For TWEWY I played several hours a day and had most of the secrets unlocked within a month... I think. I spent a lot of time leveling pins, though. If you like Pokemon and the kind of development you can get out of it, TWEWY is more for you. LoZ is just a great game, but I feel like it's only really playable once. For the Hourglass Dungeon's sake.

On the notes that people have been making, I've also started Disgaea DS, and I was immensely pleased with it as well. Just be careful not to play it too much, or you'll get a headache like I did. :).

If you want games with long play time, strategy games and RPG suit you best.

I used to play a lot of these games. Now I can't spend too much time to play games these days so I don't have any to recommend strongly. Here's a few you may want to check it out:

* Final Fantasy (RPG)
* Dragon Quest (RPG)
* The World Ends With You (RPG)
* Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution (Strategy)
* Disgaea DS (Strategy)
* Lock's Quest (Strategy)

Animal Crossing. You will definetly get over 100 hours of game play if you go about collecting all the bits and bobs. I've had this game for around 18months and I'm still pottering about and I play it daily.

What about games such as Theme Park or dare I say it Zoo Tycoon?
