A reason to hate Iwata (BIG NEWS)

OK, according to Xbox 360 World Report (a Magazine), Goldeneye was coming to Xbox 360 in mid-2007. However, there was the small matter of Nintendo's approval. Rare and Microsoft representatives talked with Reggie Fils-Aime and Satoru Iwata about the matter. Rare agreed to PORT GOLDENEYE TO WII and also to bring RARE TITLES TO THE VIRTUAL CONSOLE if Nintendo allowed the game to be on the 360.

Fils-Aime agreed, but Iwata did not. He said that he didn't want to see the game on another console.

Ok, so if Iwata agreed to this, we would have gotten:

• Goldeneye Remake on Wii
• Banjo-Kazooie on VC
• Banjo-Tooie on VC
• Donkey Kong 64 on VC
• Perfect Dark on VC
• Goldeneye 007 on VC

WHY WOULD YOU NOT AGREE TO THIS!?!

It's about integrity. It's also about money. The Xbox version will have much better online (We might not even get online because the VC doesn't play games any differently than originally planned) and many older fans will want to go with that version.

Im kinda neutral on this situation. One moment Im thinking "Hey, lets not say we wouldnt want a great game on the VC just because of pride." But the next is "But if Nintendo does this, people might lose respect for them." I guess Nintendo does know best...

Anything that prevents good games from being released is bad for gamers. I can see their point-of-view to some respect, but still in the end its gamers that lose.

OK I may sound really you know but I actually agree with Iwata because those games belonged on a Nintendo console before not on a Microsoft console and. really what next you see donkey kong 64 on the 360 while it should belong to Nintendo since they made up donkey Kong and I remember back then they had golden eye for the N64 and it was great. But look at the 360 it is almost entirely made up of FPS which I'm sort of getting into the same old same old idea so why cant Nintendo get some of the FPS for the Nintendo Wii since I still hear hardcore gamers saying the wii is just for kids.

please I'm not trying to say whether the topic is bad is just that Nintendo games should belong on a Nintendo console while Microsoft games should belong on a Microsoft console

Don't be blind. It's more than Goldeneye. It's about the fact that once Microsoft sees how easy it is to walk over Nintendo they'll start trying to get the rights to all of Nintendo's former exclusive titles, and from there they could start buying Nintendo shares, who knows?

You're not in the business, so you obviously don't know that it's more than just one game here. There's something going on in the background that we're not seeing.

Remember, everything that a company does is about money. When Iwata weighed the outcomes (Which he obviously did. He's not a CEO for nothing), for whatever reason he saw that it was a better idea to go with the decision he did.

Also, this is still just a rumour right now, so nobody knows what happened, if anything.

Some of these responses are hilarious. Integrity, you cant be serious. Have you SEEN the amount of shovelware **** that has been released on the Wii. Half the shelf at GAME and other stores are full of cheap tacky garbage that Nintendo have given the go ahead to allow on their system (ofcourse they dont produce it themselves, except for the odd mario party game ;) ). First, what I have already said is we dont know this is true right now and if it is we dont know if we have heard the whole story or not.

Second, Iwata has done so much for gaming... he has made so many good choices over his career shouldnt we give him the benifit of the doubt in a situation such as this. He know what he is doing, he has proven that to us year after year.

Third, The rumor that gonintendo was talking about said part of the rumor was that nintendo doesnt have any real legal way to stop this from being made but just the thought of hurting the relatioship with nintendo was enough to make Activision stop from making it... So even by this still very speculative rumor Iwata just said he doesnt want it to happen, its Activision who actually had the say so one way or the other.
