In my respected opinion I think WindWaker captured the Zelda universe perfectly and no other Zelda game has been able to match it.
What turns people off is that unless the game looks realistic they think it's not for older gamers. Because of that Wind Waker disappointed in many regions and Nintendo decided to go with Twilight Princess' style to regain the fans.
The only place you'll see that style is the DS unfortunately.
yeah wind waker was making even nintnedo think twice befor making another zelda gameretrofraction12
It was probably the best game in the series, IMO.
To be honest, it would be rad to see a Metroid or kirby game done with a WW style.

Fusion pretty much was Metroid in that style, it just wasn't 3D.

No, not really. MF just looks like Super Metroid and all the other 2d metroidsMy thoughts exactly, WW was my fav zelda game to date or maybe A link to the Past. But I gave up hope of another console WW. I would rather at this point actually see the franchise make some actual advancements, voice acting and orchestrated music I don't feel is too much to ask for. I mean Zelda with a full orchestrated score would rule.

Why make another Wind Waker when they could make a new Zelda with a completely new graphics engine and everything. What if they changed the whole zelda universe entirely (like in MM) but this time there would be no gerudos, zoras or gorons. What if you could ride a dragon to get around? And what if the story took place during a transition period: the old link (picture link with a beard) dies while Gannon has come back. What if Link was neither a kid nor a teenager what if he was an adult (30s-40s)? What if Link rode an ostritch and fought enemies in an African Themed Hyrule or (insert exotic land here)? If you think about it Loz games have barely gone anywhere in terms of new ideas.
They have been rehashing the same thing for far too long: enter dungeon, get a map, get a compass, special item, sub boss, Big key, Boss, repeat...
I wish they would make Zelda games fresh again: do away with treasure chests for special items (hang them from the ceiling or have bosses weilding them instead), more puzzles, bosses that are actually hard to defeat, variable difficulty, new items.

loving your idead man, escpecailly that ostrich riding and white bearded link oh yeah 8) and the enemies need to be better, just make them faster or stringer at least, and make taking damage worse, like when you get hit by a flippin laser in the face or a f***in flaming arrow it does like 1/4 a heart... wtf?! i wish 1/2 heart was the minimun damage something could do and most attacks did a whole heart, so much more challenging.
and NPC/questing needs a remake, its an adventure game, we need a world to dive into. plus almost everything extra in zelda is mandotary sooner or later, or its like the STAR minigame in TP, where you get a bigger quiver or something. we need more elements, more interaction with the world and more everything XD

Adult Link would pwn. I would love to see him all beared and tough. I would also like to have more interaction with the world but not too much,if there is too much it will be like elder scrolls and I don't want that. I would like to see it in a different enviroment,Hyrule has always been a plain with one area a lake, one area a desert and one area a snowy plain or mountain.
I would like to se it as maybe a north american area or maybe an asian area. I would also like to keep epona but also have another mount,I would really like to see a giant hawk.

I agree. The only problem I had with Wind Waker was how easy it was.
In my respected opinion I think WindWaker captured the Zelda universe perfectly and no other Zelda game has been able to match it.

Couldn't agree more, Jaysonguy. I can actually go as far as calling Wind Waker a master-piece. It saddens me a lot that people doesn't see the awesomeness.
As others have said, phantom hourglass takes place in the same timeframe of WW.
WW is a great game, but i don't like the emphasis on sea. I prefer the diversity in environments offered by other zeldas, such as TP's snow mountains, fire caverns, gorgeous lakes, grasslands, forests, etc. I also really loved link's character design from OoT and TP. To be honest i'd rather another game in TP's world, though, cell shading was a really awesomely done in WW!

I agree all the way. The region that pratically praise Wind Waker was Japan.People here wanted a successorto OOT. TP was created and people here are complaining. It's only in America that people say that Zelda Wind Waker was "kiddy" by its graphics. Japan didn't have problems with that. I didn't have problems at all.
I wouldn't mind to see another Wind Waker style. Bring an overworld a la OOT and a Wind Waker cel-shading style and cut the boat, it will be ok with me.

yeah if they make metroid a cell-shaded game but like okami cel-shading i thinkthat looks better then WW cel-shading. i think it could work out, maybe not in first person though,,, im not sure.

lol, one of the few times i actually have to agree with you. The WW was a great zelda game, that truly did capture the feel of zelda perfectly. I had my reservations about it b4 it was released, not because of the graphics, but because of the whole water world thing. True, the sailing could be a bit tedious, but WW definetly ranks up there as one of my favorite zeldas.
