I currently have dialup because of where I live, but I would also like to purchase VC games and use all those nifty channels. It's annoying, and I know I should have high-speed, but there's nothing I can do about that right now. So what I'm asking is, is there a way to download VC games on the Wii if I have dialup? Thanks for the help!

No, I don't think you can. But Verizon has a broadband adapter that hooks up directly to your 56k phone line. Maybe you should look into that.

as TigerFangRed said, he can't get broadband because of where he lives. I know several people who can't get broadband because they live in rural areas

I did hear that you can connect the DS to the internet using dial up using the wi-fi dongle, it just lags realy badly. This might be the same with connecting the wii, but It will probably download so slowly it's not worth it (also don't just go out and buy one because of what I said, I might be wrong, so some research first).

If you're staying at a hotel at any point in the future, check to see if they have free wi-fi. My friend bought his wii with us when we went on a trip to Virgina Beach and the hotel had free wifi and the Wii connected flawlessly to it.

But then you'd need a TV. If you have a portable TV it might be an option though. Just go really, really early so it's just old people and nobody your age. Get a Bacon, Egg, & Cheese on a Bagel, find a booth/table near a power-outlet. Have a list ready of all the games you wanna download with either your Credit Card or your Wii Points Card ready for usage. In an hour or so you can return home with a ton of new games for your delight!

Impossibe! I hate the word Dial-up, broadband is much better. And, no, you can't download VC games, unless you have Broadband.

I take it you've already looked into both satellite (fast but crap ping-rate) and wireless (great in most cases) as high-speed alternatives for your location?

It also might not be up to him if his parents have to pay for the internet. I remember how hard it was to convince my parents to get broadband their response was "we hardly ever use it so whats the point". **** AOL **** them and all people making money by selling dialup!
