If theres people near you who have wireless you can use their connection however it isn't always good

can you buy the wi-fi usb from a store like wal-mart because i dont want to buy it from the internet

Yeah, if you want the cheapest way, go around your house at all the corners and all the windows and test the connection, and see if you pick anything up. If you're lucky someone nearby will have a wifi connection. Not sure if it's legal or not, but I don't think there is any way they can trace you anyway. Or just spend the $20 and get the USB adapter.
