The Legend of Zelda: Link's Legacy
Alright, recently there has been quite a few of "zelda Idea" threads. And most of them are all ideas that have zero chance of Nintendo ever doing.
So I was thinking about how I would do Zelda.
Plot Line
It has been 134 years since the events of Twilight Princess. Hyrule is peaceful, wealthy, and powerful.
In a small village named Okoto ( Far East of Gerudo Desert ), lives the only decendent of the legendary hero Link in a home with one of his Dad's great friends; Rusl. He is very old, but very wise.
The new Hyrulian Princess was just assasinated. And the new heir to the throne has evil intentions of reinventing the way Hyrule operates. As this has-been military leader brings Hyrule to a time of darkness, the only decendent of the legendary hero Link grows to detest what the new leader is doing.
Turns out this "leader" is the only living decendent of the evil Ganondorf. When his father learns of what he has accomplished, he spiritually gives him the ability to control the evil powers his father once had.
This is the story of Link's only Legacy.
Gameplay
Yep, that's right, you play as Link's son. Shocker, right? Well, let me tell you why this is such a cool idea.
The freedom of having a brand new unnamed hero brings a lot of things to the zelda franchise that wern't possible before.
1. Character Creation
Since this is Link's son we're talking about, we can shape and form whatever we want him to look like. Name him, then follow him in story to vanquish evil from Hyrule.
2. Virtual Growth
You see your hero grow from young to old, gaining knowledge of new abilities along the way.
3. Variable Plot Lines
Small choices you make will affect how the plot unfolds. I'm not talking KOTOR good/evil choices, but little forks in the road that lead to multiple destinations.
And so on... (Think of the possibilities!)
Controls will be very intuitive and fun to play with. It will feature real-time sword movement, the Wii will track the movement from your wiimote and accurately depict them like you are actually weilding the weapon your hero is holding. No more waggling.
Sounds like a way cool game right?
There's a twist.
At the same time, Nintendo will release two games. One named Legend of Zelda: Link's Legacy and another named Legend of Zelda: Ganondorf's Legacy.
Thats right, you can play and see the other side to the story.
These two sides create one more thing:
An epic Online Play mode.
Multiplayer
Multiplayer in a Zelda game!?!? ZOMG NO WAYS!!!111
Well, it's not that hard to believe. Here's my version of what Zelda Multiplayer would be like.
People who bought the "good" side to the game will fight online on the good side, and vice versa. Hyrule will be divided into multiple regions, and both sides are trying to conquer them all. You will create a "Multiplayer Character" or a soldier that gets enlisted into one of the sides. You fight with that character and earn "Conquer Points" for your side. There are 16 players in each battle and computers that make for an illusion of a large-scale battle.
The game would have two CDs one for Multiplayer and one for Single Player.
So what do you think? Good, Bad, Stupid?
