Ok so i went into a gameshop last day... and i noticed there where hundreds of 360 games, hundreds of PS3 games, and only a handfull of wii games, alot used 360 and ps3 games, almost none for wii.. also when you look on forums etc, example for a great game exclusive for wii.. there are a LOT less ppl in that thread if you for instance instead went to an thread about a great 360 game.. I really like my wii, i own a 360 console aswell but as for the moment im playing my wii more.. but its lack of games really irritates me.. i mean ok its harder for wii to sell same games as 360 and ps3 cause of the graphic difference, but hey cmon, no game can ever compete with the old school mario, zelda, metroid franchises?:D and games that uses the motion function are just irreplaceble, (wondering how that will turn out now that the kinect for 360s coming out), well, whats your points of view on this situation? why is the wii so narrow on game choices(and got so few players?)? compared to the other consoles.

Unfortunately a majority of the great Wii titles are first party only. It's a shame that third party developers aren't doing that great of a job. I mean sure there has been a few companies here and there doing something pretty good on the Wii, but for the most part, it's shovel-ware and cashing in.

That's a little fence of text, and I think this might belong in System Wars.

It's the opposite here in Australia - DS and Wii games litter the front of EB Games (I think that's the Gamestop name here). There's millions of games laying around - this is a huge change from the GameCube era, where there was literally three shelves in the back corner.

I highly doubt that there will be a new nintendo system in the next year unless its the 3DS. So ya its a wild rumor.

IDK what you are talking about, my gamestop always has twice as many Wii games as any other console.

"kykehampe", Our goal at Nintendo is to offer the best gaming experience possible. In order to do so we have to create great games. At this years E3 we showed off a number of great games, many of which you will be able to play in the year to come. If you missed Nintendo at E3 you can visit "http://e3.nintendo.com/" to see what we showed off. Thank you for showing your concern and Happy 4th of July. -Reggie

My situation? I play my Wii. Never look back at the other current gen consoles for I already have the greatest console ever made. Do I go old school? That's what VC is for :D, and it's one of the most definite greatest things Nintendo has ever done. :D

It seems to me that the Wii was perhaps originally marketed for families and for casual gamers. The Wii has plenty of games, but most of them are crap. I wonder if perhaps Nintendo figured that the average family doesn't care about game quality, as long as there's some waving of the Wii Remote and an E on the case.

Unfortunately, I don't think it's farfetched to say that this family image might've resulted in the Wii's lack of sophisticated games that are seen on the 360 and PS3. As a decidedly hardcore gamer, I feel a bit alienated by Nintendo and I doubt I'm the only one who feels this way. I have a Wii and a 360, and it seems like for every quality Wii game that's out there, the 360 has 2 or 3 quality games. I had my Wii first and got my 360 a year later; looking back, I see that my gaming life was a bit stale before I got the 360. Incidentally, my 360 library dwarfs my Wii library. As an example, since January, I have bought only one new Wii release-- Super Mario Galaxy 2. In contrast, the new releases for the 360 I've bought in this same time period include Mass Effect 2, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Final Fantasy XIII, Red Dead Redemption, and Alan Wake. It's really sad to see that Wii-only gamers had to miss out on titles like these. Every Final Fantasy game used to appear on a Nintendo system until Final Fantasy VII. Nintendo has missed out on the last seven mainline Final Fantasy games. How does something like this happen?

Simply put, the Wii's lack of quality titles is a glaring flaw and one that I hope Nintendo will rectify with their next system.

All the Gamestops in my area (there are like 6 of them) all have a bigger selection of Wii games than anything else. Besides there are many great exclusives on the Wii. My gamefly que is filled with Wii and PS3 games. I actually more trouble finding good exclusive 360 games. It's a good multiplatform system but not a good one for exclusives. Either way I'm sure the Wii is fine.

The wii has plenty of quality titles especially this year that alot of the Ps3 and 360 only gamers are missing out on.

Well the game shops in the UK have pretty big layouts for the Wii and usually a huge library for the DS, I would say about as much of it is worth even looking at than the stuff on other consoles (they all have mountained of rubbish to wade through regardless of what people claim).

The GameStops around me usually have more Wii titles than anything else. The problem is that only 1 in 10 will catch my interest, and most of what I'm interested in I already have.

lol don't confuse post counts for interest, in most cases its mindless bickering about which console has the better version of a game and stuff like that. Also a store will carry what sells, the best selling games on the Wii(rightfully so) are 1st party games, 3rd party games(once again, rightfully so in most cases) don't do well, so stores are unlikely to carry them. It depends on each individual area, games don't sell at the same rate everywhere.
