I've been looking for a game for a while, and since the next few weeks seem fairly lackluster in releases (imo), I'm looking towards the VC, especially ActRaiser and Beyond Oasis. I was wondering which one you liked better and why. I could afford both, but only want to buy them if they are good games. Thanks for your recommendations.
You should get both, they offer different things, beyond oasis is an action rpg in the vein of zelda, kind of like sega's version of it, it also reminds me of aladin, it's a very fun game once you get into it, actraiser is an action/rpg/strategy game where you are a warlord protecting a race of people and playing side schrolling levels that are reminiscent of the star wars games on snes, you also play as an angel building a city for your people to live in all the while protecting it, it plays like sim city with 50% less options, but it all works so well, so yes, get both.
Actraiser you are a god. In fact in the Japanese version you are refered to as God and the enemy leader was refered to as Satan.
Actraiser is good but very short once you get the hang of it. Going by muscle memory I got to the end part in just four hours and that was me taking my time.

See... that's what bothers me - it's short. I heard it's about 4-5 hours long, which I really don't like. Beyond Oasis is at least 8 hours on the first try, so that seems like more value for the money. I'd like to get both of them, but I feel as if ActRaiser is too short for it to be worth the money. However, the reason I'm considering it is because it was inducted into Gamespot's Hall of Fame saying it was one of the greatest games of all time...

Heh, well, you create a new topic, and at the bottom right (under neath the message box) will be a link saying "Create/Edit Poll" or something like that. You can only do it once every 24 hours. You also have to be a subscriber or at least level 5, which I see you are.
4-5 hours if you know what you are doing. This day and age it could go fairly fast since the sim and platforming elements are well known these days. Hey consider eight dollars to be worth more in entertaimnent value on the game then if you had gone to the movie theater.
I have beyond oasis and I have to say its total weak sauce. Not worth the download at all, there is almost no story, the controls get frustrating later in the game when you have to do lots of jumping, bosses are weak, magic is weak, weapons are a joke, items and leveling is underwhelming.

Hmm... I've actually never heard anyone say anything bad about Beyond Oasis before. Thanks for your opinion.
