I was just wondering how far people have gotten in the game without it being really tough. I'm new to the series and can't get past one mission. Is there any guide on any site? That would really help. Also on the first level is silver the highest you can get? I do it as perfectly as I can and only get 324 or 224. I forget. Well Thanks.

mission 21 required me to do some thinking, an im in the middle of 22
I'm definatly not that far. I'm on level 10 and I have trouble. Well I also have only had the game since yesterday. While I'm at it, how do you get your map to Wi-Fi? I make some but they don't fit the criteria. Does anyone know how to make maps the work?
what imeant by do some thinking, i meant i really had to take it slowly an figure out a strategy. an as for "silver medals" see if they has an S on them, S-Rank is the highest, an if you got a score of around 300+...you should have one.
people seem to have probs with 10 and 14, i cant even remember those levels. but you should see what the enemy has an what you have to fight with an come up with a plan. an one time when i checked my status...theres this thing called tactics that give a hint toward waht you should do(an thats a new thing to the series i think, except in awds, if you lost a mission, they sorta gave you hints)
as for wi-fi, i dont use it much, i want to be campaign an then the training levels
oh ok, i got my ds an checked out10, this one was a little rough. obivously, try to move your units back to your base, no matter what... 1 infantry will dai(the one close to the aa). so try to capture all the building in the center, an i built tanks, aa, an rockets to defend that area til i could push him back an win. if you can hold the building on your half you will have more money with than an that will help also, keep his air force away by using yours

Just replay it a few times and focus on what the AI's tendencies are. After awhile, it's easy to figure out what the AI is going to do... not because the AI is dumb (they certainly aren't), but because after studying it you can tell what they're going to do.

i dunno, i didnt need a review to know this game would be good. but its upsetting that a game of this caliber doesnt get good treatment.
OK, so do you want to capture the base or kill all the enemies? I've tried capturing the base but they just have too many inderect attackers for it to work.
i kill em all! no mercy, especially against some jackhole calling himself "the beast". usually when i push toward his hq, i try to put units on his factories to prevent him getting new troops, an as you push, take his cities...the more funds you have, an the less he will receive. an i have only done 1 mission that ended in capturing the enmy hq, mission21(it seemed easiest for me)
Ok cool but like ive never played this game i like strategy war like command and conquer, and halo and socom and like gta would i like this game did anyone have a hard time to figure out the controls and what to do thanks! add me to ur friends list and message me ill add u !
its good, the controls are easy, once you start playing you will figure it out, an he game will tell you how to use units the first time you get em. and its turn-based, no rts
i pretty much dont have trouble on any level, im at about 23 i think? im pretty sure 23, ive only have to try a mission over once, then i usually get it the second time, i guess im just awesome ;) lol or it could be bc i played the other games in the series to death as well, but anywho, there is a guide for this game on gamespot, so if u need help u can use that, or just learn to be awesome like me :D
yeah, playing all the other aw, this one doesnt seem too tricky, but i like how much more fun they can be, my favorite level is the creeper, an right now im on 22
truthfully i dont use the wi-fi too much, my wi-fi connection hear sucks. i can pick up on it...use it, then get cut off. other wise i'd be playin ALOT MORE. wi-fi > than game link cables haha
Ahh ive been playing all of the Advance Wars games since the first one came out on GBA.
If this is your first game in the series, i strongly suggest you check out Advance Wars Dual Strike, the first one that came out for DS, its tons of fun and more friendly to new players, the video review for that game should explain all, but im assuming that they wanted you to try out Dual Strike first, because the tutorial is much more fast paced this time around.
i bought the first one by accident on gba an loved it, an i couldnt contain myself when i heard of black hole rising. an then i bought a ds...an then sold it, to find out awds came out. so i bought that game an borrowed my friends ds. it wa slame but i didnt care. an this one, even though its hella different, is good

yeah for mission 14 I'm probably going to get a C rank just because it's taking me forever lol. I just have to capture a few more buildings and then mass up my army...
The missions were kinda straight forward to me, i only had problems at 24 which took me 3tries and the last mission which i took 5 or 6 tries... Had problems with 24 because i didnt know how much more the enemy was gonna send out, and last mission due to mistaking it for a mission that i have to stall...
Basically u just have to take a look at the maps and try to figure out whether you needa rush the map or stall until you get a reasonable force. If you make the right deduction, and carry it out right without making BIG mistakes, you should be able to beat the map easily....
Maps sent online are restricted by a 10x10 size and 50units max to start out with.
