fire emblem has evolving units and ur game could change if certain people die...but if ur like me and NEED too keep everyone alive then you will have an awesomely hard time...and with 2 GBA, 1 gamecube, 1 Wii, games you have alot of catching up to do...you will not regret it.
yeah, they're pretty similar. Fire emblem is more like an RPG, and advanced wars is pure strategy. In Fire Emblem, you customize your people with weapons, experience and skills, and units are not nearly as expendable as in Advanced Wars. Fire Emblem is also more about the single player campaign, but AW has a bunch of different modes and freeplay options.
I love them both, and neither is necessarily harder. Fire Emblem can be really easy if you plan out early which characters you want to use, how you're going to level them up, how to spend money and bonus exp, and take full advantage of several methods of strengthening your team and leveling up well. Advanced Wars requires none of that, and has a simplicity in planning, but not battlefield strategy.
fire emblem is harder.jack_michael
Agreed. Here you won't lose units permanently. The gameplay is different.
I played both and liked each. The two are somewhat similar but they are different. FE is more like an RPG in that the people earn levels fighting & therefore get stronger from battle to battle. Once you lose a player they are gone from the game. AW is purely a war strategy game where each unit is new from one battle to another. You get what the game gives you to play with at the start of a battle. With the ability to build new units all through the battle if you have the money needed to build a unit.
