I'm afraid of putting a Gamecube disk in my Wii which is why I haven't gone back to any of those games yet. I mean, the disk is so small and the slot is so large! I'm afraid if I put it in, it'll drop to the bottom of the slot and get lost inside the Wii  (I have it vertical).

Should I try to put the disk in the middle of the slot or just ram it in there? What if it never comes out?

I'm scared.

Wii has backwards compatibility... you aren't going to break it!

Seriously, don't be so afraid! I've never heard of this issue from anyone... just slide it into the middle.

There's no reason to fear the Wii's GC backward compatiblity.  That's because it works perfectly.  Just feed the disk in the center and the Wii will take it just fine.

Even thought you could try to fit 4 gamecube discs side by side in it (don't try doing that.), it's not anything to worry about it. There's no bottom for it to sink to, and I now use my Wii as a gamecube. Only downside is that you can't have a Wii and Gamecube disc in there at the same time.

The drive is specially designed to accept both 8cm and 12cm discs, it's one of the only slot-loading drives that is capable of that.  Just position the Gamecube disc in the middle of the slot and push in until the drive grabs it.  When the disc goes in, you'll see the Gamecube logo appear in the Disc Channel, then just start the game like you would a Wii game.

Just note that once you start a Gamecube game, unlike normal Wii games, you won't be able to go back to the Home menu, and the Wii Remotes shut down.  To get back, you'll have to turn the system off, then back on again.  Also, you have to use your Gamecube Memory Cards to save your progress, as the Wii cannot save Gamecube save data in the internal memory or SD card.

You dont even have to feed it in the center. It doesnt matter at all if you put it at the very top or in the very bottom.

When you eject it it'll always come out perfectly in the center.

Relax, you'll only lose the first couple of gc disks you put in there, no big deal.
