You can't laugh out loud on the inside.
lol
it's not the pushing buttons that is so great. it is combining a sequence of them in such an order that your opponets melt like butter. that is what is fun.
Whats great is seeing all of your favorite Nintendo characters on one game, being able to play as your favorite, and beating up the ones you hate.sman3579
I see how the idea is cool, but I don't think that justidfies the extreme hype around this game for the last year. This game has more hype than Zelda, Galaxy, or any other game in recent memory (with the possible exception of halo 3). It's a good game, but at it's core it's just a nintendo themed mortal kombat.
Never compare Smash Bros. to High School Musical... lol
Well, it turns out that the Smash Bros. series has developed a huge fanbase over the years, and this time around, not just the fans, but even casuals alike are looking foward to this one. I've seen it too. I go to other sites that have nothing to do with videogames. Sometimes out of the blue people might talk about videogames. A lot of times these people hype over SSBB. That's just my speculation.
Brawl is a somewhat simple fighter that casuals can enjoy, and provides loads of skills for hardcore gamers to enjoy. It has addicting gameplay (If many people still play Melee and enjoy it to this day, Brawl appears to have improved in many ways, and added much more content). All that, with all our favorite Nintendo characters/franchises, and a few 3rd-parties aboard, tons of features and content, rewarding gameplay with all the unlockables, online play, and collectables such as trophies and stickers, makes Super Smash Bros. Brawl the best game in its series, and that says a lot, Considering the previous Smash Bros. titles were quite legendary to many alone.
I don't necessarily understand where the hype came from for Halo 3. Maybe it was the advertisements, over a game that didn't change too dramatically since the previous title.
Brawl, has a lot more to offer from the previous title, and I think that's the homerun for most fans right there, since we already loved the series as is from Melee. But now it just keeps getting better.

not really.
for me SSB's was a social game, I played it, my friends played it, part of our status was how good we played the game.
On saturday's there would be about 8 or 9 people all sitting on chairs around our tv playing 2 losers swap out, we'd have team battles, and there was just such an energy with the game, every single day after school growing up, we'd play smash brothers, we'd have matches and talk while we smashed eachother, and when meele came out, we were all over that one as well, it was beauitful, because everyone recignized the characters, the fighting system was simple to grasp, but so hard to master, that sinking time into learning to fight better paid off in the end.
The main thing i'm excited for with this game is the addition of online play, since I ran out of competition, and couldn't afford to travel hundreds of miles to go to some convention or tournement. This addition of online play is what rekindles the spark in me to play again. There's just something fun about sitting around playing smash brothers with a group of your good friends, laughing it up, while beating eachother up.
Now that I'm older, and we've all moved onto university etc, we can't possibly do that anymore, but with online play we can conference call and play smash together like the old days!

I believe the correct term is LIL. Anywho, because melee was freaken pwnsauce and the thousands and thousands of fans of melee plus any new gamers and such want to see this game that has so much content. Keep in sticky?
Have you been following all the game updates on the Dojo site? There's so much more depth and awesome stuff in this game than Melee. If there's anything that's helping the hype behind the game it's online.
