Am I the only one who thinks Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition is really hard?

I am only playing on normal and this is my first Resident Evil game but I find it really hard to beat the part at the very start where the villigers are burning some guy.

I thought the game was a bit on the easy side because of how easy it was to aim with the IR pointing compared to the joystick back when it came out on the GC.

Oh yeah, that part is definitely hard no matter what difficulty or controller you're using. There's tons of villagers and you gotta be good at combat to get passed that part.

I rushed through this game even faster than I did on the GC version getting everything possible. If you want a really hard RE game though, you should look at the other ones. It's hard enough considering that it's annoying to aim thanks to fixed camera angles.

That first village fight should be difficult your first time through the game.

I found the Wii controls a lot easier I even managed to fully complete the Mercenaries mode to unlock the best weapon in the game which I found impossible to do on the Game Cube,

My way of doing that part is to just get them to notice you first of all, then run back to the gate you started at and let them funnel their way to you, it lets you kick a bunch of them at once. But if you want more money then there's a 2 story house you can run into that will be besieged by alot more enemies plus a chainsaw guy, but you get something to sell for some cash from the chainsaw guy if you kill him.

Also, make sure you get the shotgun on the 2nd floor of that 2 story house.

get to the part after the axe part. that's harder. and then once you get used to that part, it will become... a little easier.

It's hard depending on your strategy. Don't run around outside and try to kill everything. Buy yourself some time by barricade the houses and run around on the rooftops. Be sure to get the shotgun in one of the houses on the second floor, which will make it easy to stun the chainsaw dude if he comes too close.

I think I made it on my second try the first time I played RE4, so no, I didn't think the game was very hard. I died a couple of times, but that just made it more fun.

Resident Evil 4 Wii on Pro is harder then the gamecube version.
RE4 Wii is also harder than RE5 on Pro on the 360.

The game is evil :P

If you try to run and gun that part, you will probably die alot. Try bottlenecking them, Run around the village and grab all the items you can and make sure to grab the shotgun in the tower. When you grab everything. Look for a building in the back of the village with a metal door inside the building. Get in that room and stay there until the zombies reach up to you. As they come through the door pick them off. I found a youtube video a while back showing how to get through that part but I don't know where it is anymore.

The game gets easier as you go on because you get new weapons and upgrades. The beginning is definitely the most difficult and slowest part of the game. Just keep trying, it gets better.

I don't really think the game has been that hard at all... maybe a part here or there.

The biggest shock to me about the game was how good it looked. I thought it was a decent looking game at the beginning, but it just gets better and better as it goes on.

just as a heads up.... when you start buying guns here and there.... invest in the Red9. You'll thank me

Yeah you have to be pretty hardcore to complete professional mode. But the funny thing is professional mode in RE4 is still only on par with normal mode of the classic Resident Evil's (RE 0 through 3) in terms of difficulty.
