Amazon has currently stopped selling 3DS' due to customer complaints and have released a vague statement

"While this item is available from other marketplace sellers on this page, it is not currently offered by Amazon.com because customers have told us there may be something wrong with our inventory of the item, the way we are shipping it, or the way it's described here. (Thanks for the tip!) We're working to fix the problem as quickly as possible."

The complaints range from headaches, weak software line-up, to defective systems

This is just sad i feel sorry for 3ds. People should really learn how to use the 3ds slider.

That Amazon statement is pretty much the norm and occurs usually due to their crappy packaging with alot of items like DVD's / CD's which can come loose in the shipment. The 3DS shouldn't have that problem so, it's sad to see people so unhappy but the 3DS line-up is terrible right now so... yeah.

Seems like the problem is due more to Amazon than it is to Nintendo. Also seems like it's only an issue with the Black 3DS, not the Aqua Blue one.

As long as I have my 3DS and my games I couldn't care less about who sells it and who doesn't. Amazon can go down the drain come the holiday season for all I care.

The GameSpot article updated and apparently they're selling them again.

It's definitely a quality control issue on Nintendo's part - their fail-safe (the little rubber bumpers on each corner of the top screen) doesn't keep the screens far enough apart when a 3DS with a loose screen is closed. So both those bumpers and the wobbly screens are to blame. I should consider myself lucky I got a black one with a good tight hinge and bumpers that seem to work.

i am surprised this hasn't been locked yet with the fact that amazon is reselling the system already but i find this whole thing to be a joke and i love on how one of the reasons they used was a weak software lineup its only been a few months of coarse it will be weak

You know what I have noticed. People are rejecting 3d in the wrong areas. They will flock to bad movies that do not even use it correctly, but there is some software on 3DS that nails 3d and everyone is so quick to push it aside for fear of being a mindless victim to the larger 3d gimmick phenomenon.

I dunno, there have been a lot of reports recently that the 3D versions of movies aren't grossing as much as the 2D versions, even when there are more screens showing in 3D. People are tiring of it, probably because most 3D content is unnecessary or poorly done.

Yeah the 3D movie craze is going south again, like it always does. Most movies use it terribly, so people aren't going to pay extra for it anymore. According to an IGN update, it was Amazon's fault and they have removed the tag. Probably should have investigated it thoroughly instead of posting that on their website, if I was with Nintendo I would be pretty pissed off about that.

I hated Transformer 3 but the 3D in it was amazing.

I really want to see 3d content that gathers people's attention.

PilotWings Resort had some of the best use of 3D I have seen in gaming simply because you could maneuver in air and pass through rings in a way that a 2d display could not properly communicate. However that software's core content was limited and vague. I think even the most uninformed gamers would be dissappointed with how little it has to offer.

I'd be a little upset if I was nintendo. The funny thing was the aqua blue version stayed in stock the entire time so this obviously wasnt anything to do with the actualy 3DS itself. Everyone is so quick to find some dirt though that they took the ball and ran with it . . . .even if they ran to the wrong goal.

Not headaches. Not reviews. Not software. Just shipping. We can stop pointing fingers now.

makes sense to be. everyone i know that owns a black 3ds has had issues with it. especially the hinge. it's the white ds lite all over again. except for the hinge is too lose and it won't stay closed unlike the white ds lite hinge that was so tight it cracked. and yes people need to know how to use the 3d slider.

What about the Blue 3DS? Are they having troubles? and yes people need to know how to use the 3d slider.
