You always hear people say, "Oh, I want another cell-shaded Zelda game," or "I want another realistic Zelda game!"

Well, why not both?

How about in the next Zelda game, you go between a cell-shaded and realistic worlds? It would appease both crowds. It would appeal to both the hardcore and casual. Not to mention the possibilities if you combined the two.

How's my idea? Crazy? Another stupid Zelda idea? Or brilliant?

well...it's already been done. Partially

TP was realistic, and had cell shading effects so....it could work. Sounds kinda cool to me.

I would say the only game that comes close to mind is the New Prince of Persia in developement. Check it out

check the new Prince of Persia game out man. Cell shading can be used in different ways.

Just because kids use crayons, doesn't mean that artists can't use them...

ok the mixing thing doesnt seem very good.. but going from cell-shaded to realistic sounds awsome.. what if theres like a portal and you can go through it and become from realistic to cell-shaded and viseversa.. and both world would be like the same but with diff. char and diff. objects on them so you would have to go from one to another at certain points of the game so you can go through..

another idea(very simple): just make it an option.. the gamer can play either cell-shaded or realistic. same game, same objectives, same weapons, same everything :D

xD i new someone was gunna bring something like that up and i was hoping they would be nice and just let me slide. I realized after that there are many realistic looking games that use cell shadding. and now that i think about it even more TP would have looked ten times better with cell shading over its realistic art style

Ive been saying that for a long time now. Nothing would be better than a Zelda with a realistic art st-yle using cel-shaded graphics.

it's too bad they never went with that approach. Even if they did now, everyone would say they copied Ubisoft's art direction.

i dont think so no one would really notice as long as they used their own artistic style just implementing the cell shadding over realistic drawing that PoP is doing

Well, I was talking about a part of the world would be realistic, another part would be cell shaded, and another part would be combined.

Wow! I actually thought of this and posted it in another thread last week or the week before. I think it would be a cool idea, and I'm glad other people noticed this unique possibility!

This is basically what you want. NOTE that I did this with the crappy mouse on a laptop. It would make him look emo. Did it on Photoshop CS without the desire to change brush size.
