Basically, the two recent major games are out and I have taken some videos for my website, www.dsdatabase.org.  Both games are phenominal.

I think Anno 1701 is a really great RTS, following in the footsteps of longer RTS games such as Caesar and maybe at some points, Age of Empires II.  It is not at all similar to the quick battles in Starcraft or Warcraft.  You guys really have to check it out.

Brothers in Arms DS is certainly one of the best FPS game on the DS now, maybe even taking over Metroid Prime Hunters had it included WiFi.  The game plays smoothly, and looks great.  There is a lot of variety, and wireless multiplayer.

So here is the site again: www.dsdatabase.org.  Go to the videos section for Anno 1701 and Brothers in Arms DS gameplay videos.

You can use this to discuss these games, but more importantly, can you guys comment on my site and give me feedback?  I know the popup is annoying, and it is already being worked on.

Thanks,
PharaohsVizier

Anno 1701 looks a whole lot more like a sim than an RTS. It still looks good though; reminded me of Sim City.

Well there is military, and supposedly that is the main thing you have to do, fight off the other settlers to claim your land, but basically it focuses a lot of the economy.  :(

Thanks Dude! I was looking for some more input about just those two particular games.  Anno 1701 got released today and man, it sure does suck that I won't be able to afford it anytime soon.

To all of you north american gamers: Keep a close eye on an eventual release date for that game. The "anno" (or "A.D." in america) games are games everyone should've played at least once. And according to the reviews, the DS-Version is equal to the PC ones in fun despite of the radically changed combat system.

Brothers in Arms I'm not too sure about. I don't really care if there's WiFi or not, as long as the Campaign is lenghty and fun.

Anno 1701 looks pretty neat. I actually kinda like the economical sorta stuff.

but how's the fighting even like? is it just the normal select all your units and just tap the enemies and just watch what happens untill one side is dead? or is it different?

i'm haven't played any of the other anno games before. would this be a wise choice getting it?

No I don't even review games, it is just my little first impressions.

Anno 1701 is actually really good now that I got it.  The fighting isn't too good though.  Think of it as a Stronghold game.

Well I'm not sure about the American release date, but supposedly it comes out next week or next next week in Europe.  I have the European version even though I'm in Canada.

Just wanted to chime in and agree with the TC about Anno 1701. I'm several hours into Story Mode (with several hours invested in a Continuous Mode game as well) and I've reached the conclusion that this game is nothing short of amazing. If you like city-builders in the vein of the classic Caesar games for PC, you've got to get your hands on Anno. Reserve it, import it, stand on a street corner and beg for it, whatever it takes.

Anno sets the bar for complex realtime sim games on the DS, and is a prime example of just how well PC-to-DS translations can work with a capable developer behind them. Anyone who enjoys the genre on the PC shouldn't miss it.

Can't agree with you more. It is very time consuming, but easily going to be a classic.

Anno 1701's music makes me contemplate suicide, while'st the game's pacing make me think about sleeping until Phantom Hourglass releases. But alas I must digress, a Sea Bass has already been donated, and by YOU of all people. I will return this to you now. Do you wish to donate anything else?
