any news on a redesign 3ds yet?

none yet and hopefully none for awhile since I don't feel like buying an upgraded version

Nope. :) If there was, I'd only buy it if it has additional features like the DS Lite to DSi and not just a simple redesign like the DS to DS Lite. Nintendo has learned alot from the previous iterations of the DS, so the 3DS right now is not bad at all.

actually if anything theres chance of another price drop

but i think nintendo has their fingers crossed that the downloadable games will bring them some profit

but yeah no redesigns mentioned yet

It isn't likely to happen before 2014.

Why?

1. Nintendo isn't exactly shipping many Circle Pad Pro's even though they all sold out. This means they aren't very serious about getting it out to potentially early 3DS adopters if a redesign came out with it built in.

2. Nintendo has said they are aiming to sell 18.5 million 3DS units before this fiscal year ends (March 31st, 2013) This indicates that they will try to stay the course and not risk a redesign so soon by selling as many in a year as possible.

3. They already have the Wii U to be concerned about. They'll probably focus on it's marketing and reception throughout late 2012 and most of 2013.

4. It's the best selling handheld gaming system right now by a wide margin and sales aren't going down at all, they're going up. A redesign would be a pretty stupid business decision since redesigned units are intended to get extra life out of an aging platform.

Maybe next year.

So now i'm waiting for a remodel.

This is pretty much it. It's selling like crazy. Announcing a redesign would only slow them down at this point. Once sales start slowing down maybe we'll see a redesign then but I expect a few years inbetween this point and that.

Maybe next year.
