almost positive its not...i read somewhere a little while back that Sakurai (sp?) said that it would never come to DS...sorry to burst your bubble. if i can find the source ill post it...
It's probably not going to happen. SSB is not suited for a handheld anyways, it's meant to be a game played with other people and the DS isn't good for multiplayer.
it owuld be greati ould think of plenty of possibilities to use in it but i HIGHLY doubt it because smash bros has always been a once a generation console game for nintendo so you prolly wont even see another smash bros untill the wii is gone
never will be because nintendo likes to give systems a good start with new releases then let it slide by on a few first party games until the next system. their next handheld will likely launch with a super smash bros game.
Sakurai (the man behind the Smash Bros. series) has suggested that Brawl would probably be the last Super Smash Bros. game he would make. This doesn't mean it couldn't come to the DS, since Nintendo would probably jump at the chance to milk the series for all it's worth, but it might not be made by the same guy if it ever is made. Having followed the development of Brawl very closely, I feel like Sakurai would not want to make a DS version at the risk of making it too watered down.
I'm sure in the latest issue of NGAMER they had like a little interview thing with Sakurai and he said the next console they'd be looking at for Smash Bros would be the DS. I'll have a look and see if I can get a picture.

I don't think it will come out because if it would then nintendo would have made it a long time ago. And now that brawl came out they will have to put fourth more effort to include new trophies, stages, moves, items and characters. It just doesn't add up in my eyes. I'm not saying it would make a bad game though, I would definately get it if it came out.
Don't get your hopes up for this game. I mean Nintendo is trying there damn near hardest to make more wii games, probably putting all their man power into it. It seems they forgot about the DS. Maybe they are prepping a new handheld...

I really hope this is not the last SSB games because Brawl was something of a letdown for me.Hope if he ever makes another one he'll put ONLY nintendo characters.
