any REAL games coming to 3ds?

I was thinking of getting myself the 3DS. I already have the psp from since long, and it has served me extremely well - with a bunch of high quality good real games that I've spent countless hours playing. I know that the nintendo ds had it's fair share of quality games as well. But looking at what games are about to come for the 3ds, i don't see any "real" games here. Just a bunch of remade games and or revamped old games... most of which I've already played or don't want to play. And then you also got the games like pilotwings, monkeyball and the ports like pro evultion soccer and street figher, which is better on a console anyways.

What I'm looking for, are real games for the 3ds. Preferably rpg/action-adventure games. Like god of war, metal gear solid, disgaea, crisis core etc. or to take examples from nintedos side, games like radiant historia, golden sun, mario games (new, not ports from old ones).

Are those kind of games coming anytime soon for the 3ds? or should I just stick to my psp and wait maybe a year or two?

titles are obviously a bit weak, no one can deny that, but if you brwose through any gaming websites at all,

you should be very aware of all the 3ds games coming out by now. the big games are obviously

not coming till around summer and fall, butthis isn't really a surpise since launch titles always seem to suck.

am i wrong in being specific about what i wanted to get help with? really, read your post and see how you started all this nonsense. if you came to playstation forums and asked for games like pokemon on the ps3, so be it, you want to get a new system but you still like that kind of games. what is wrong with that? i had my psp and i love it for long time, so what? i want a new fresh system. now i come here and i get comments on how i should just stick to my psp when i've checked up nintendo 3ds and it looked like a good system that i think i would want to replace my psp with? i ask for help cause you guys here know more about nintendo and 3ds than i know. all i know are games for psp and pc. and read the responses that were made here? non of them any help, just PURE bashing and flaming from people who can not take that i have another preference than them. that i like my psp? really?

I don't really have any plans to get a 3ds right now, the games just don't say anything to me (the fact that I just got a PS3 along with the fact that I have a Wii, a DS, and a PSP is part of the equation along with the fact that few of the upcoming games really grab my attention...but then a friend told me that was only because I haven't held one, so who knows)

But I digress...

At any rate, there is a HUGE library of games for the DS that is backwards compatible with the 3DS. Chrono Trigger (a classic that is alone a reason to own a DS/3DS), Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, a whole SLEW of classic old-school RPGs that are lacking on the PSP/PS3/Wii. There's GTA, chinatown wars...the minigames are just not the same on the PSP. There's The World Ends With You (that would be impossible on the PSP. I have NEVER had any interest in Pokemon and don't see the appeal of it, but lots of people like it so it must be doing SOMETHING right. Who knows when the Metal Gear Solid will come out but that alone may be reason enough to get a 3DS.

While the reaction to your post has been a bit over the top, and many people besides yourself haven't been impressed with the launch games, it's the language you used that brought the backlash. Firing back with cheap insults isn't the best way to respond either.

Having said that, you say things like Pilotwings, Monkey Ball, Pro Evo and Street Fighter are better on consoles, but then you ask for games like God of War, MGS, Disgaea and Crisis Core, which are also the sorts of games you'd get on console (probably more suited to consoles than many of the 3DS ones you mentioned).

Having said that, there is a new 3D Mario game on the horizon but just four screenshots so far as it hasn't been long since it was announced. Expect more details at E3. Metal Gear is on the system, but I think it's a port of one of the PS2 games. I wouldn't be surprised if Disgaea came to the 3DS at some point, but I don't think anything has been announced.

As for RPGs, not many that I know of off the top of my head. There are as-yet-unnamed Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Persona and Shin Megami Tensei games apparently in the works, and an enhanced port of a DS game called Devil Survivor that might satisfy your Disgaea needs (well...it's an SRPG). There is some Dragon Quest Monsters game I think, though personally I'm not interested in that. There is also apparently a port of Tales of the Abyss on it's way, if that means anything to you.

It sounds to me like you might be better waiting. Few consoles are at their best around the time of launch (in fact, I can't think of a launch I thought was all that great anytime in the last decade or so), so if not much appeals to you, and you can't find anything on the net about games that you might like, you may as well just hold off for the time being.

Wow. Okay i know the Thread at first glance may seem insulting to the 3DS, or fans of the system. Though if you READ it carefully, you would realise the Zoeyleft didn't intend to bash the 3DS. He clearly stated what kind of games he was into, and whether there are games like that coming to the 3DS. It's a simple question, which could have just been answered (i know a simple google search can answer his question) but still is it really worth bashing him for it? No it's not.

Anyway to answer the thread, yes there is "real" games coming to the 3DS. You have games like Metal Gear Solid, a whole new Resident Evil (going back to the roots of the franchise, this is as real as it gets) and Ocarina of Time remake and many others if you look into it. I'm sure with how popular the system is in japan, there will be TONS of rpgs, final fantasys etc hitting the system late this year/next year too.

Personally, with your taste of games in mind i wouldn't bother getting a 3DS yet. I'd wait till the end of the year, maybe christmas time before you consider getting one. That's when the type of games your into should start appearing.

you got some perfectly good responses too... why not ignore the other ones... no need to call everyone a fanboy.

No reason for people to get mad at the TC...I know exactly what he means. Real games as in games that arent ports and are original IP's and or NEW altogether...there is a lot you just need to read into it. We are getting a new Mario game, we are getting kid icarus, a new resident evil and a bunch of others...There will no doubt be a new zelda down the line...you know how nintendo works. They wont just release ports...they will have a bunch of original games, its just that with the 3ds coming out so soon ports are probably the easiest thing to make people happy right now without releasing a ton of crap games.
