Hey guys :)

I really want to pre-order the 3DS (mainly because of the sub-£200 pricetag on various websites) but I don't think I'll be able to raise enough money to guarantee a pre-order. Therefore I think I might have to save up a little bit more money and spend £300 on the console and games by camping outside of a shop :D Sounds kinda crazy, but I'm 17 and never done it before lol. I have a GAME and a Gamestation both on my street, so I'll need to see if they are competing on prices or not. Hopefully I'm not the only one near me doing this :P Anyone else?

If you don't preorder then your chances of getting one are very small. I'd suggest you go ahead put down the minimum to reserve it and then save up your money for release day. Worst comes to worst you could always just cancel and get your deposit back.

Just pre-order one and you won't have to wait outside.

Uhh, you all do know you can still buy it even if you don't get it on the first day it comes out right? o-o;

Really.

Yeah, but good luck finding one.

lulz. Some many things wrong with this statement.

a) It's a handheld system

b) It's an expensive handheld system

c) March is not close to any big holidays

d) Only the video gamers who stalk video games on the internet will know about the release or even bother to pre-order it

If the 3DS was something like the Wii, a totally new system with a totally new name with tons of advertising and stuff never done before (3D isn't anything that new and the PSP has pretty good graphics for a handheld) then I might actually worry about "not finding one". You fanboys are very illogical sometimes, you know. ;D

I preordered and I am still going to be sitting outside the store for a good 9 hours. BUT I'll have Pokemon White, Dissidia 2, and the new Protest the Hero album to keep me company.

No I wouldn't camp out but I'd rather go over to Tesco at midnight when I've been for some of the big title launch games it's rarely busy.

I've got mine on pre-order, but it's at a Gamestop inside a mall, so Idk if they're doing a midnight launch. If they are I might wait in line. Last time I did that it was for the Wii and I had a ton of fun! :) Plus I'll have Pokemon White to keep me busy and maybe some other people will too! I'm still deciding. as for avilability I think you'll be taking chances by not pre-ordering it. Only b/c nintendo's initial shipments aren't gonna be huge at all. my gamestop asked for a $50 deposit, I'm guessing most places are too. But Im pretty sure Nintendo World in NyC is only asking for $25.

Not really. And preorders are going fast.

Nintendo is just now starting to wind up their advertising blitz. Trust me, more than just obessive gamers are going to know about the 3DS, and they will want one.

You fanboys are very illogical sometimes, you know. ;DYoweeh

There's going be a lot of crying from people like you who didn't preorder and won't be able to walk into a shop within the first 6- to 12-months and just pick one off the shelf. :)

To waste time with a few buddies I would do it ...but for a 3DS...no. If i'm paying that much and standing on the line for that long i expect a handjob with my purchase at the least.

Lol, why would I cry about it? It's a video game console, not someone's life. It plays video games. It's really not that important. I'll get it eventually even if it does sell out, but it's not going to be hard to get. It restocks. It's not like it's only staying around for a week.

I sort of scares me when people freak out like that for a game.. and I think the 3DS is the tip of the iceberg for Nintendo. I'd be waiting anyway.

It is expensive, btw. $250? Sure it's cheaper than everyone was at first saying but it's still: Dude, that's a lot of money. I could feed a family of four for a week with that. o-o;

I've never pre-ordered a console (for myself anyway) so I completely forgot about the whole "Pay the deposit and then pay the rest off bit by bit" thing. Is that how it works in England too? Anyone from here? I just assumed you put down a deposit, and paid the whole amount the day you picked it up :P I could always do that then yes, and still camp out :P

If my older bro doesnt get off his butt and pre-order it, then you can expect to see me camping out at your local Target, I'll be the first one in line (my older bro gets two different discounts that can go towards the same product since he works there, 4 years ago when the Wii came out, we were the 5th group of people in line. Yeah 1 wii pre group and it will probably be 1 3ds per group too)

It's all relative. $250 is not really considered expensive for portable entertainment. Now the iPad, that is expensive!

Why don't you just put a deposit down for your preorder? Then pay the rest on launch day...

I hope I can get to the mall at 8AM and not be standing there all day.

For those who preordered the Wii, A preorder does secure a system right? not gonna get through a 2 hour line to be told "Sorry"?

Well given that March/April alot of people are walking around with extra spending money (tax returns) it might make it alittle harder to get one. I would think big stores like kmart,walmart,target will have some that wont sell out at opening but probably wont last to long on the shelves.

Apple is expensive, period. Can't really compare many good things to them. :U

The iPad tagline is something like "A magical and innovative device at an unbelievable price." And then my eyes drift down to "Starting at $499" and I think, "That's unbelievable, alright... unbelievably expensive!"
