Me and my brothers could never really work out the Mic in MKDS or the mini-games in NSMB like the Yoshi Balloon game. We tried whistling, balloon-style, barely blowing air on the Mic, snapping our fingers, among other things. And it's not broken because we got the DSLite a month after it came out and picked MKDS at the same time, but still, it's a pretty crappy feature.
So we put it by a fan turned on High. :( Anyone else hate it?
doesn't holding select for the ballon thing work also? :o and yea i have some problems with my mic on my old ds too! maybe cuz it's old and full of dust i duuno :P, i did get it on launch day
I hardly ever use it, but never had a problem. I do want to see if Nintendo makes a head set with a built in mic. If they make that, it will atleast help with the talking issue.

I had trouble at first, but I think im starting to get the blowing thing down right. The thing I didn't like about the mic though (this is probably the game) but when I play Brain Age during the game where you have to call out the colors it can't seem to detect the way I say blue. I know its not my mic when other people try it, it works, so I tried saying blue in just about every way I can but no luck.
Heh heh, yeah the "blue" issue. It's still never been explained to my full satisfaction - I have the same problem where it won't pick my "blue" no matter how I try to change my voice, so naturally the game things I'm a dingbat and gives me an old age... But my sister and a friend of mine both had absolutely no problems with it (on the same DS.) Go figure.
lol I never play Balloon Battle, I just think that I'm blowing into it wrong or something...oh well, Shine Runners rules, anyway.
Everyone seems to have trouble with Brain Age when they say 'blue'...me too. It's kinda annoying, just standing there like an idiot saying 'blue' to your DS over and over again lol
well sometmes is annoying, and it sometimes make a ds look cool too. when my friends play brain age, they always piss, when telling the color and stuff.
the only thing that annoys me about it, is that when i play nintendogs my dog seems to be deaf and can't hear anything unless i have to shout it and say it the same way everytim; so i don't play nintendogs anymore.
it pisses me of so much in half the games that you have to use it especially in mario kart when you have to blow up your baloons at the start of a battle
