Because emulators are illeagle (mostly) and maybe you want to support a company like Nintendo which you enjoy?

Anyway... yeah, despite what emulation sites might say, downloading copyright games is illegal! Even if you own/owned the game, or only keep it a set duration, etc. You are still breaking the law. Period.
