I take it that's a dig about how the Wii game is just like the GC one? clever.
Animal Crossing must be an extremely difficult game to advertise. FPS, Action Games, etc, are easy... just show things blowing up. Action shots.
RPGs... just show some of the cutscenes (sell it like a movie).
But how do you sell a Sim? They have no real action shots, except for fishing, catching bugs, shooting down balloons and perhaps visiting the city.
So, they decided to focus on the people who play the game, and once again focus on the 20-something female demo. The commercial is definitely static and boring, but I'm not sure what else they could have done.
Perhaps a series of commercials? "30 seconds with City Folk". They could have had 4 different towns, and 4 people just doing what they do in town (with some snappy editing to cut down the amount of time just walking). Play all 4 commercials in rotation, so that every time the commercial comes on you see something different.
Most importantly... no shots of people sitting on the couch. Ugh.
the blonde girl was pretty hot therefore i like their commercials. But I (my opinion), find the game boring and repetitive, and I dont really see what they could take to make the commercial interesting if the game itself is boring (again my opinion).
Sure it seems cute and friendly, but thats it theres nothing that makes you say WOW I want that game!
lol .. the parody of The Real World!rofl

I agree that AC is a hard game to advertise, but Nintendo barely advertises anything here at all. Even putting more spots on TV would help.
