I never got a chance to play metroid prime 1 when it was released since I didn't have a gamecube but decided to pick it up after I got my wii. And man is this game boring...so much back tracking and it's so quiet. This doesn't mean that I don't have fun with it...it's more like "I'm bored let me pass the boredom with MP1" instead of "Oh man I gotta play this **** I loved Super metroid back in the day but prime 1 just seems too queit and dull. Anyone else feel this way?

Yes. I don't like the whole adventure feel of it. I'm trying to force myself through it so I can get Metroid Prime 3, which will be a lot better.

I'm not very far yet, though. :(

Did you guys enjoy Euper metroid back in the day tho? Super metroid was so fun back then because the freedom was incredible. But nowadays I need more interactive story rather than just puzzle exploration.

Sounds like you're just being ignorant. Why do people on these boards slam others for not having similar tastes? *rolls eyes*

But the answer the original posters question, yes I felt the same way as you did when I played the game and I finished the entire game. I also played the original Grand Theft Auto and I thought it blew chunks, buta lot ofpeople loved it *shurgs*.

I agree in that the game does a good job of making you feel completely isolated and I didn't like that very much, I like having other characters to interact with, even if they are out trying to get me. The game wasn't bad, but like you I didn't feel like I had to play it, but it was fun enough to play the whole way through.

I do like the exploration and adventure part but it has to be mixed in with a good story and action and MP1 didn't do that. I'm hoping that because of the more accurate Wii controls that this game will split better between action and adventure/exploration.

I think MP1 may have been slightly more subdued than MP2 but I still found it a very fun game, whether this is because it was something new at the time I played it and replaying just brings back old memories I'm not sure.

I did not like MP1. To tell you the truth, the whole Prime series bores me. Give me Resident Evil, Nba Live, SSB and some Mario Platforming action and I'm good.

Am I wrong or is it the first you played a Metroid game? The silence like all Metroid gamesis for the atmosphere, the feeling to be alone in a hostile environment. For me, this is one of the most immersive game I played.
