This isn't meant to bash the game by any means. I've played Brawl and Melee, and yeah, they're fun, but I don't enjoy them nearly as much as everyone else here seems to. Does anyone feel kinda "meh" about the game? I know I'm a freak and I've committed a sin by saying this, but I'm curious as to how much of a freak I am.

I could really care less about it, it is a button mashing fighter. I'll pick a Capcom or SNK Fighter if want to get my fix.

In Bralw you could unlock everything in about a game, so I wish there were more unlockable characters and stages

otherwise they are all great games

Not a button masher. Soul Calibur is a button masher but skilled players can work not to button mash. Actually most fighting games can be button mashing.

I think it's overrated. I had fun playing it and I unlocked all the characters and stages, but I haven't played it in months. I just don't think it's as great as everyine makes it out to be.

I'm a Nintendo fan. Not fanboy. But I think Nintendo fans would enjoy Smash Bros. more then anybody else.

Brawl is a good game, but it seems a bit tonned down in speed, which is bad. Brawl is one of the Wiis best, but its MASSIVELY overated, and put on a pedestal by many, even 3/4 of this forum will flame you if you bad mouth Brawl.

Its almost as bad as FFVII.

Saying FFVII is overated is purely opinion based. Heck, Might as well say SM64 and Zelda OOT are overated But then again almost everything is.

I liked melee and I am waiting for Brawl (june 27) and I think its better than melee (from what I have seen).

Brawl also has lots of content collecting trophies,stickers,getting all the notices and the best of all the subspace emissary.

Brawl pretty muched perfected the 4 player FFA, but the 1v1 suffered slightly, but I find that it is improving very quickly with the newest tech and strategies.

FFVII was great.... until SE overrated it.izayoi

It was great, but it was really caused to be overrated by the FF noobs that just played FFVII and called it the best game ever without bothering to play the other games in the series...

THEN SE came in, over saturated it and milked the hell out of it

I don't like it over Melee, but I still like it. And if you mash buttons in Smash you'll never win, I can guarantee that.

Yep. That is true. I've played FF 4 to 10. Personally, FFVIII is my favourite. This is going off topic. Anyways, any game can be called overrated.

I will not flame you. Even though I'm (sort of) a Nintendo fanboy. Everyone has a right to their own opinion. But I do think Brawl is amazing.:)

The reason why Brawl was toned down (speed) is because some people complained about Melee being too fast. I adjusted in a couple of months from Smash64 to Melee. Melee to Brawl wasn't really a big change. But you can tell Brawl was slowed down a bit.

Wow.... thats horrible, I thought the speed increase was what made Melee such a great inprovement, and then Brawl was slowed down and it was like a stomp in the nuts to me...

I first want to thank everyone who's responded for not flaming me for this post! It didn't want it to go down that road and thank you all for not taking it there. Don't get me wrong, SSB is fun, and I can see why it's so popular. I just don't have as much fun with it as it seems most people have. But I can see that I'm not a total freak from what some of you have said.

The multiplayer aspect is good, but in my opinion, the "in the same room" multiplay topped out at Golden Eye/Perfect Dark for N64. Man, I loved those games. 1-3 friends, or even by myself playing bots (Perfect Dark) was a blast. I haven't enjoyed a multiplayer focused game that much since those gems. Maybe it's because I'm just not into fighters that much, or that I'm not into the multiplayer as much (have more drinking buddies than gaming buddies at 24, though sometimes they mix.).

Brawl = Great

Melee= Good

What made brawl so great was that it added so much content while melee got old quickly because when you played it it was the same thing everytime when brawl you had the subspace emissary, more characters to unlock, and Wi-fi. It just was because more content.

It's meh. It feels just like Melee, but with new faces and a few tweaks here and there.

I played it for a bit but haven't touched it since Mrio Kart came out. I think it's a good game for what it is but I'm just not a fan of fighters.

I loved the first Smash Bros. on N64, and I also loved Melee, but when I popped in Brawl, I got this strange feeling of Deja Vu... And that's the reason why I grew tired of it so quick.

what is there not to like about this game? you get to take your favorite nintendo character, and fight against another one from a totaly different world! Who doesn't want to be sonic and run around an ever so stupid and slow wario? who doesn't want so flatten jigulipuff with dedede's hammer because jiggilypuff sucks o much? who doesn't want to "falcon punch" picachu right of the map? Who doesn't want to be pokemon trainer... WITH 3 POKEMON!!!! ONE OF THE BEING CHARAZARD!!!!

how do you get any better than that?

Tripping. Honestly, worst idea ever.

Other than that it's pretty awesome. I like the extra air time.

I don't know...I never quite understood why Nintendo would want to pull all of their characters out of their respective universes and have them fight, but I have to admit the game is good--especialy Brawl. But then again I don't see how it's as good as any of the individual games it's based on, like Zelda, Pikmin, Metroid, etc. They're more or less all better, so I don't see why the Smash bros games have become something like Nintendo's flagship. I mean, they're the most popular titles on the last two platforms. That's a problem, since the game is pretty shallow. It's a pretty competitive title, though, so maybe that's what makes it so popular.

i bought it becuase of all the hype. traded in 2 days later. just was not fun for me. now if i had a lot of friends who were into games maby. but i could tell eather way i was not going to like it like i used to streetfighter2 ect. just didnt do it for me at all. i did like that you could make your own levels though.
