I just got one playing Rabbids Travel in Time, my first since playing Ridge Racer when I got the system at launch. I got the update when they first released it, and I thought I wouldn't experience it, but I just did. So, anyone still getting the BSOD after the update?

The update did no have anything to do with the black screen. I got it for the first time yesterday after i played ghost recon for the first time. There seem to be only a few games that cause it.

I haven't gotten BSOD, but I think it's some games only. I've played SSFIV only, and no problems so far.

This. The update had nothing to do with a so-called 'fix for the black screen of death'. Nintendo wouldn't have been able to brew up any sort of remedy for that problem in 24 hours after the system's launch. If there have been any subsequent system updates, perhaps they have come up with something for it. But I guess not.

It has nothing to do with the 3DS itself. It's caused by a few different games. Ghost recon, lego star wars, and possibly Ridge Racer cause the black screen.

I've yet to have any kind of system crash, having played 30 hours of Pilotwings and 8 hours on Ridge Racer. I know that Ghost Recon is prone to crashing if you have the Wifi switched on. Turning it off seems to fix the problem apparently. As for crashes on other games, I have no clue, sadly.

I haven't experienced a single BSOD (thank goodness). I have SSFIV and Shadow Wars. I've also played Lego Star Wars and The Sims 3 for a short amount of time.

Same. I've beaten Pilot Wings: Resort and have played a few hours into SSFIV but have never gotten the BSOD error yet.

no crashes here, just clocked 20 hours on ridge racer. could it be an issue with the fast ram used for sound? that used to error on gamecube and Wii, it's based on the same architecture.
