I have both kinds of ds, a silver ds phat and a onyx lite, but recently i found myself using the phat more than the lite, personaly i think its much more comfy for them games were u really have to pound buttons. Anyone else still use the phat>?
I personally think its more comfy than the Lite. The buttons are bigger, more flat and have a better position than the Lite. Also the colors feel more right on the Phat. Take the courtroom in "Phoenix Wright" for example, its bright yellow on the Lite while on the Phat it has a light brown color which a courtroom is suppose to have, in my opinion.
Well, that's my 2 cents on why I choose the Phat! Wooopha!
I still have the original DS model that was released, which I got for the holidays of that year. Since I haven't had the money to get a new DS, yeah, it's what I use. :P
Heck no, The only contact I had with the phat was when I played in a friends house, I didn't even have the DS yet...I didn't buy because i knew it was gonna be released a improved version....learned that with the GBA....

I got a DS Phat a while after it launched, but i would pick up a Lite if my Phat spoils now. The Lite is really much better, but since my Phat still allows me to play my games now, i'll just stick with it for the time being.
The original model (phat) is great for indoor use and for cloudy days. The lite is good for bright and sunny days and outdoor use such as after school, the bus, road trip or just bored out of your mind in the open playing Zelda. They are both good, but the phat one is cheaper. Good luck finding a new one. A used one runs only 70 dollars though.
I got the DS Phat before the Lite came out. A lot of my friends turned in theirs to get a DS Lite, but I never really saw the point in doing that. The Phat works perfectly well for me.
i had the Phat day it came out (happened to be my B'day) but swapped for a psp, and when i swapped my Psp, again, back to the DS, the Phat wasn't really an option because nowhere sold them anymore

I agree. Don't get me wrong, I mean the Lite is nice, but I'm not going to get scammed by Nintendo and spend more money on a slightly improved system that I already have.
I have both the phat and the lite. I almost never use the phat anymore but it makes a good back up while the other one is charging or for playing multiplayer.
I first got the DS phat but when the light came out I bought it instantly and sold the fatso. Have never regret that. Light is way more lighter so when you play for 3 hours straight it's great. but the main reason I changed what for the screen. man I can't stand the fatso now after I got my lighto. 8)
I bought the DS Lite on the release date. (Reserved it the day before lol). Twice, on it, my hinge has cracked. So I went out and bought a phat as a backup. I love it. It's comfy. Right now I'm playing my lite, though since I left the phat at my other house. And the charger too. The Lite is what I carry around with me 24/7 because I can't live without portable handheld gaming.
