The topic of Final Fantasy IV has been argued many times, and many are hoping to see it released in North America. But what about Dragon Quest?

I, personally, have never played a Dragon Quest game in my life. The only affiliation I've ever had with the series is the anime that I've seen dubbed back in the 90's (it was pretty cool I guess)

Anyway the previous owner of Enix or whoever has stated that he wants DS owners to experience Dragon Quest, and has DQ 4, 5, and 6 slated to be released on the DS. With DQ 4 already out, do you think there's a possibility that we'll get the trilogy in the US? Even if it isnt a very popular title, I'd still love to try them, and experience a new rpg.

Anyone willing to wait until the summer for news...

i owuld love to see this game come to US. i haven't played DQ 4, but ive played a few of them and i love them. so old school and simple, but they work so well. i was actually thinking of importing it from play-asia (they are having a 20% sale til the 30th) but the lanuage barrier is big. so i got ouendan 2 instead for $25

Ouedan 2 was a good buy, especially for $25... I remember paying $50, so... yeah. Personally I think I like the song selection slightly more in the first Ouendan but overall the improvements and features found in Ouenda 2 make it the better game.

My Dragon Quest VII booklet has an ad for the Dragon Quest IV remake for PS1, but it never happened. I was really excited about it back then, and I'm glad to know that there's now another chance to get it. I hope it's released here. But the NES version rules regardless, so I won't be heartbroken if we don't get it. But I would really like to play official legal translation of V and VI.

Yeah, I'd definitely love to see that... I already plan on getting FFIV and DQIX when they come out for DS here in the US, but I'm not sure if they chance of them releasing DQ IV - VI is likely or not... What about I - III, too? Those were some of my favorites!

Squenix is working on too many things at once. Things will take awhile to be released, just be patient.

God, I want them to release 4,5, and 6 stateside so bad, But I really don't think they will, the games just don't sell that well here, and lots of people don't like it here, and a big reason for it is because of FF7, FF7 is why JRPGs are big here and so when a JRPG is not an FF game, it is not as appealing unless its very very good, for instance, Im a huge JRPG fan and I actually enjoy western RPGs too, but I like FF, DQ, Tales of..., Shin Megami Tensei, Megaman BN + SF, Star Ocean, well you know, I pretty much like any JRPGs by SE, Konami, Namco, Level 5, Tri-ace, Capcom, Atlus, and Nintendo, But I really just mostly like good JRPGs. Now, My 3 year old brother was way into FF7 when it came out, it was prolly his first JRPG, and he was way into it, now, most of the time he only plays FF games and thats it, almost every other JRPG he trys he hates, He's tryed Persona and some other Shin Megami Tensei games, he's tryed many others, he actually likes Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey but thost are very similar to a FF game, now here is my biggest point and my whole purpose of this post, He tryed to play DQ8, it was the first DQ game he's played, and he hated it, his friends told him before he even played it that it wasent very good, you see, in America, most people are FF frat boys, and anything to radically different are not acceptable to them, and you see, the biggest problem for DQ is that the Characters are never as memerable as the FF games and then the First person stuff does feel old now, but I enjoy it, so I don't really know what they can do, truth is, I think you will have to learn Japanese if you ever want to play DQ 4 5 and 6 for the DS.

They are not remaking 1-3, and I don't think they wiil, at least anytime soon, I would not be surprised if they end of on the Wii VC some day, and it would be nice if they brought over the DQ 1+2 double pack for the SNES and the DQ3 remake for the SNES on the VC translatted, but I doubt that will ever happen. Because dang, Have you ever seen shots of the DQ3 remake on the SNES? It looks so different from the NES version, it was like a complete overhaul.

wow dude wall of text alert! Try to use like, I dont know, paragraph structure and such?

anyway I'd think the large install base of DS owners would be enough incentive for them to release it. Why cant we experience those games too right? I guess, with everything, we'll just have to give it time. We gamers sure do have to have a lot of patience

I can't wait! The game look amazing. How come we didn't get an official announcement for an NA release yet?

Wrong. It was already found that the Dragon Quest IV DS rom contains translations for english, french, spanish, german and italian. Don't bother importing it though, the languages are activated only through a cheat code and don't cover 100% of the game. It's pretty obvious that they already prepared the game for a NA and European release.

Well I actually have heard of this, the fact that incomplete English, Fench, German and whatever languages were found in a ROM. but that still doesnt completely guarantee we'll see it around.

Of course I'm hoping that it will be released, sooner rather than later I wish

I'm playing the partially translated version of the game now and I LOVE it, but I'd definitely buy an official US version of it if they released it. DQ 4 is a really fun classic RPG
