I have never played a action survival horror before and i never thought about picking this up when it came out. Could you tell me if this would be a good buy on the gamecube or PS2, i have a Wii but i dont really want to wait or have the motion controls that much.

Is this an ok difficulty level for someone new to the genre?

just wait for wii, and if u really cant heres what to consider

gamecube version has much better graphics but ps2 version has a couple more guns(i think 2) and an it has seperate ways where gc only has assignment ada

wii will have best gfx and all the extras from the ps2 version plus the controls make it the best version

Yep, probbaly the best advice you'll get, but if you really can't wait...it depends what you appreciate more quirky extras, or better graphics, personally I'd go for the GC version original and best.

The GC version is much better than the ps2, but supposedly the Wii version is the best.

Wait for Wii.  I'm guessing that's why you posted on the Wii board.  When people say that the graphics are way better, honestly I'm not sure they've compared them.  There's less anti-aliasing in the PS2 version and the sound is slightly grainier but you can barely tell.  Also, the cutscenes on the PS2 versions aren't done in real time like they are on the Cube.  Honestly wait.  If you can't, I'd head for the PS2 version actually because of the extras.

I would really wait for Wii version, many editors of websites say the controls work perfectly. And supposedly the graphics are a bit better than Gamecube's (I guess with 480p).

I haven't ever played it either but I can't wait! :D Birthday present FTW!

if you care about graphics (which you shouldnt) get the PS2 version... thats if you absolutely cant wait til june otherwise...wait until the wii edition the GC version was fun and awesome, but the PS2 has the extras which make it more worth your money

This is a very fun game and is not too difficult.  However, I suggest waiting for the Wii copy, this could be the best FPS styl game made so far... even tough it is third person.

Wait for Wii version. The guys at IGN (who are far more accurate than Gamespot and dont moderate like a six year old pope)  said that its the defining version with the best gameplay and visuals

It's pretty easy, but to somebody who's entirely new to the survival horror series, it'll be around normal difficulty.

I highly recommend you wait for the Wii version, it's a great game, but worth the wait to get the Wii version. Unless of course something goes horribly wrong with the Wii version and the world spirals into a fiery pit of ice.
