I was just trying to copy some game saves from the wii's memory to an SD card, but most of the time it just gave me a message saying the data cannot be copied. This happened with disc and VC games. is the data supposed to be protected, or is there something wrong?

There are some save games that can't be transferred into SD cards, including games that have online data.

Depends on what kinda game. Brawl you can't, cause of the online stuff. But most games that don't have online can be copied. And I'm not sure why you can't copy VC games, since it's not like you can play them off of the card anyways. Or maybe you're trying to copy a Wiiware game that has online stuff on it?
