Are GS reviews fair?

Are the gamespot reviews fair? Are the games overrated? Or underrated?

Lets have a look.

During the old system these games recieved music scores I can't see are logical.

The legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess: recieved 7 in sound

Super Paper Mario recieved 7 in sound

Ocarina of time on VC recieved 8 in sound (which IMO has the best music ever)

Wario ware recieved 8 in sound (I haven't played it, but that was the lowest it got)

A link to the past (VC) recieved 7 in sound

Mercury Meltdown recieved 7 in sound (which was it's lowest, I haven't played it but the trailers seemed to have fine music by me)

Madden 07 recieved 7 in sound, while the X360 and Ps3 versions recieved 8, even though theyhad lower scores totally.

While games as Gears (10) Oblivion (10) Knights of nine (9, total of 8.3) and many other games on Ps3/X360 recieved high scores on sound, while almost none scored down in 7.

This MIGHT be because the Wii uses MIDI music. But frankly can you hear a lot of difference? I can't hear a lot of difference, and I prefer good gameplay over music, call me crazy!

So what I would say after seeing the last numbers.

Ps3 is fairly rated.

X360 is overrated

Wii is a bit underated.

i read the preview/review to see how the gameplay is, and so...

but i do not care about most of stuff, like sounds, graphics...

They are correctly rated. The Wii was made for motion controls, and if they dont work just as good as games with the "standard" or "old" style of controlling, it gets knocked down.ice_radon

I put I LIKE CHEESE, but I also like pie.

Oh, and Gamestop reviews are generally lower than they ought to be, but they're generally balanced. Occassionally they severely underrate games... Blue Dragon was unjustly crucified, for instance... and the problems of Quake IV and Tony Hawk's Project 8 were overstated. But then you've got severely overrated games to make up for it. Gears of War is not a great game. And while PS3's Ninja Gaiden Sigma is an undeniably great game, it looks like hell and does not deserve a 9. Warioware also got a ludicrous score, as Warioware games have zero replay value and are usually just dumb gimmickry.

As far as other Wii titles go, I didn't like Twilight Princess as much as I could have (it's no Ocarina, I mean) and think the review was pretty fair, but note that I haven't finished it yet... I've only just beaten the Fire Temple. Didn't play Red Steel, but I get a feeling that they threw it under the bus because a lot of people love it. And Wii Play got hosed... I think that game has as much to it as Wii Sports does, though I think Wii Sports was VERY overrated. Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz was OK, but as many minigames as there are, none match up to Monkey Billiards, which was disappointingly absent from BB.

Gamestop's really harsh on VC games though. They gave Kid Icarus like a 4? Come on... and rating Legend Of The Mystical Ninja at anything less than an 8, let alone in the 6es, is just heresy to me.

I may be a Microsoft fanboy, but there is no way I would rate Gears of War over Res Evil 4 or Zelda:TP. I am also surprised that those Zelda games received such a low score in music compared to some of the other games on those lists.

But people will always be complaining about the rating no matter what, seeing as we have fanboys around every corner.
