Are people getting there hopes up too high and too soon?

Look I want a new zelda game as much as everyone else since I'm a big fan of the series, but with all these topics popping up am i the only one who thinks people are getting too ahead of themselves with anticipation? I'm not saying people shouldn't speculate about the game, but we haven't seen or heard anything about this game which means it could be a ways off from release, and If i recall when people overhyped themselves before Twilight princess's release they were all expecting too much and some now blast the game because it didn't meet their expectations. I think it would just be better if we take things as they come and not wait for the next big thing to come from E3 or where ever because it might and probably wont be everything you expected, but that's just my opinion i guess.

I used to try and talk some sense into them, warn them not to get too excited.

But honestly, I've learned that it's funnier to sit back and just watch all of them cry and complain that Nintendo failed them or lied to them. Their little hopes and dreams, crushed by their own hype. Good times...

As for E3 compare 2008s E3 to every other E3 and you will see why its a joke, many games have been promised over the years and Nintendo hasn't delivered so some fans are annoyed and I don't blame em. No console in the history of gaming has more shovelware then Wii, you go to the shops look at the Wii shelves and your practically smothered in the crap and thing is they can put all effort into gimmicks and crap but they can't make a SINGLE Starfox game or whatever else.stike22

Common sense says a new Zelda is due since Twillight Princes was a gamecube game. But I'm thinking theres gonna be more then Zelda I think Nintendo has something else up there sleeve.

This happens everywhere i used to try too but it never works. People will get so extremely hyped that they think it is the games fault for being so hyped.. Then they use it to say the game was ****. "X is so bad because it got so overhyped." This is why i never hype games up like they are the next revolution in gaming i just don't get why people do it.

there are more people on these fourms saying not too get hyped then people who are expecting somthing big from e3 sadly i am hyped but its too late for me try and save somone else

I'm not trying to justify mindless hype but Nintendo did say they were disappointed with last year's E3. If Nintendo themselves are saying things went badly last year, why would they willingly repeat that performance?

Anyway, I'm not sure we'll see a new Zelda. Nintendo's secondary franchises like Starfox, F-Zero and Pikmin are much more likely.

Yeah, there is ALWAYS too much hype. However, I genuinely expect this years E3 to be great, because they don't have anything good announced and a new round of games needs to surface.Head_of_games

I never allow myself to be hyped for anything, I don't see the point. It;s only video games, it's not like the world is going to end if the game doesn't change the world, if it's fun, has plenty of replay value and keeps you entertained for a wee while, then fine. But it's only a game at the end of the day.

I don't allow myself to get really hyped for any releases now. I let myself before last year's E3, and that was simply painful.
I always have faith with Nintendo's core IP games such as Mario and Zelda, but it's the third parties titles that people are getting too excited about. Sonic Unleashed/Black Knight immediately spring to mind, and I can tell already that The Conduit won't live up to the ridiculous amount of hype it's been receiving.

The only good games on wii IMO were : Red Steel , Zelda , Okami , SMG , Kart , MK:A , MP3, RE4 , NMH , DBZ2+3 , Madworld but thats it , most of the games are from 2007 and currently there is really nothing good on wii and i dont wanna play the same games over and over again. I loved the Wiiat the release but now it just collects dust because of no worthy software (i played almost all wii games till november last year)

But im not crying on forums dont get me wrong , i just went to the shop and got a PS3 and there was no reason to turn on wii since november for me with loads of great titles both graphics & gameplay- wise , all the statements that wii isn't bout graphics but gameplay are so untrue because the wii games lack of both , contantly waggling a remote isn't any addition to gameplay imo when yourhand hurt after a houras a result of that. Most games simply just suck and i speak from my own experience.

to everyone who ihas only a wii and is dissapionted by the wii-games i feel your pain , just buy a X360 (or ps3 if you can/will afford that)the 360 its even cheaper then Wii and its has a ton ofgood games , cool graphics , good online play while wii currently has none of this , i just hope thay wii comes back with some good games but i dont care if not because i have my ps3 now

hmm it seems what i was saying got a bit lost after a few posts. I know there aren't many wii games that are Triple A quality and that's true but it doesn't mean zelda and mario games are all that's left. What i was saying is that people should really not build the next zelda game up to be the second coming since they will be let down with that kind of expectations, and with the recent flux of zelda topics its already begun and we don't even know what the game looks like or anything about it. Maybe what I'm saying is falling on deaf ears but when you go into a game with no expectations its a much better experience all around, but i know most people will get hyped anyway and more than likely bash said game since it wasn't what they expected after the long wait.

I am going to sit back and laugh at every single person who complains about the lack of Zelda at E3. Zelda was announced a month ago, and another Zelda game to be announced 3 months later- from GDC- it won't happen.wiifan001

I'm actually extremely excited about Punch Out!! right now so I'm not thinking too much about E3. I'm also thinking about Sin and Punishment 2. However, Pikmin 3 will always be in my mind no matter what. If Pikmin is shown at E3 and not Zelda, fans will probably complain which would make me furious! This might also be a good thing since I do not want Pikmin competeing with Zelda for sales.I've just had enough of people thinking that Mario and Zelda are Nintendo's only games when Miyamoto just created another series of the same calibur.
