I was wondering if there are new models of the wii's out and if these last longer than the old wii's? Does the old ones break faster or isn't there any difference?

My launch Wii has been perfect for over 2 years. I never even needed to clean the lens.

me too. it's usually how well you take care of your possessions and whether or not your environment is clean.

I has mine since 2007 and I don't have problems. It's a Nintendo product. You may see broken products but it's less than the others products.

If newer Wiis were better in any significant way, Nintendo would market them as an improved Wii in hopes people would ditch their old ones.

Well they could have fixed some small bugs based on user feedback. Thats not somehting they'd market. Anyways I have a launch Wii and I had to get it repared once, but now it works fine.

I don't think there have been many Wii problems to warrant a new version coming out. I got mine around launch and it has broke two or three times, guess I am just unlucky.

My Wii from 2006 is fine. The only concern I have about it is that while playing Dirt 2, I had some framerate issues, and no review I read, or Gamespot user at the time said anything agreeing with me, quite the contrary.

But otherwise it's fine and that game is bad anyway.

Ther is only 1 model of the Wii so newer ones are not better than older ones except that they benefit from being newer.

Wow someone else who has DiRT 2! I think they ripped me off big time :(. I've noticed framerate issues like twice I think and sometimes I get a weird sound from the tv like when you get a grey screen when cable goes out or something :P.
