They're not as good as 360 or ps3 graphics, but they're definitely not terrible. Take super mario galaxy for example. Very nice game to look at. Great graphics, and some nice shine and water effects.

Obviously, the graphics aren't on par with 360/PS3, but they aren't bad. Well obviously, you have some horrible looking games, but that's on every single console.

Although there are plenty of terrible games, the Wii has some are also some real lookers. Titles like Metroid Prime 3, Red Steel 2, Monster Hunter 3, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Okami, etc.

Oh and no, not all games support WiFi.

My advice to you is this: If you care about graphics a lot, the Wii is not the system for you. It does, however, offer unique games that you won't see on any other console.

Hope this helps a little.

The Wii lack the hardware for shader support which makes the technical visuals suffer overall, but it doesn't stop the visually artistic games from being on that system eg. games like Okami. You should be worrying more about the Wii's gameplay potential and to this point there are alot of games you can catch up on that offers alot in the gameplay aspect.

Most of the time they really don't bother me. Galaxy, Brawl, Monster Hunter 3 look amazing. It's a matter of effort by the devs, Wii will never match the HD consoles but that doesn't mean it's graphics can't be clean, detailed and attractive.

If you are looking for gameplay with the Wii and good graphics you'll be fine to go with the Wii. The graphics are under-rated. Games like Twilight Princess push the graphics to the edge and give a great look to it. Now i am no fool, it is not sub-par to the Ps3 nor 360, but its not eating its dust either.

I'd say that there are xbox original games, when ran in hd, they look better than 95% of the games on the Wii. This is a screenshot from Ninja Gaiden on the Xbox Original, not many Wii games look better than this:

It depends what you consider "bad". Most of the games are on par with the Gamecube, if that gives you an idea.

Yes because few use the hardware or even triy.

For example, with the Force unleashed we were told DMM and euphoria were impossible on Wii yet Nintendo managed to get physics strikingly like DMM in Wii Sports Resort sword slicing mini game. Were often told Wii cant do shaders which isitself absurd and contradicted by shaders appearing in like every first party Wii/Gamecube game made. Then there's morons like that guy saying Wii is weaker then a Iphone or the idiot producer of RE5 stating Wii can't handle RE5's title screen a more professional developer would say a direct port is out of the question.

There's been hype recentlysurrounding a south american level in Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles I fail to see whats so brilliant about it in the admitedly little footage and few screencaps we have of it though do like the artstlye even if it is recycled.

in my opinion, good graphics = how pretty it is to look at it, and wii have plenty of those games, tho there are some developers that dont grasp HOW to design wii games and some just turn out awful and make my eyes hurt

Wii graphics aren't as good as 360/PS3 graphics, but they definitely aren't as bad as many make it out.

Wiigraphics are good. If you want some games that look good on Wii, check out Super Mario Galaxy, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, and Metroid Prime Trilogy.

By the way, I think you should just buy a Wii. You should really stop askin' all these questions; all I'm gonna' say is buy it!:P

I agree, but 99% of Xbox games and a 100% of 360 launch games didn't look that good either. Team Ninja just knows how to make great looking games on any platform, what they're doing with Metroid on Wii is a great example of what they can do.

No. Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, Conduit, Madworld, Brawl, etc.

Does certain games look better then others?

Most developers assume that Wii has no more horsepower than the PS2, so design games to look that way. The few that think that it is truly a next gen system, not being as good as 360, makes games that look fantastic, listed above in my games that look great list.

What games have the best Graphics?

1. Mario Galaxy2.Smash Bros. Brawl3. Metroid Prime 34. The Conduit5.Madworld

All games have Wifi?

Not all, but some do. Like some FPS games have online, Mario Kart is online, Brawl is online.

Others are not. Like Zelda, Okami, Mario Galaxy, etc.

wii games look great when given the proper treatment by the developers. dont expect metal gear solid 4 great, but expect great enough to enjoy and play. doesnt feel like the gamecube, dont worry. of course some games look better than others, that's how it works on any console. it depends on the devs only to make it look good or not. right now, mario galaxy is really good, and although it's a japan only release for now (we'll have to wait more to get it), monster hunter 3 was good enough to make the zelda team try to improve their game to look at least like it. only some multiplayer games have wifi. there's a blue/red round circle on the box with the words "nintendo wi-fi connection" on games that support online. blue is free to play, and red is pay to play/downloadable content.

I don't even think Metroid:O M looks that good.

They relased a couple of high-res screens that look ok, but it's nothing too impressive (even for the Wii) imo. And those screens look extremely better than anything even the great Nintendo has released thus far. I could be incorrect, but I would lay money on the game not looking as good as that,

especially this pic

I just don't see it looking that good when the supposed gameplay "action" moves (Samus grabbing the purple lizard, and blasting his head) doesn't look anything close to that. I call photoshop BS by the developers!

Obviously, they're not as good as those seen in the Wii's HD counterparts, but games like Mario (any of 'em, really), Metroid, de Blob, Little King's Story, and Smash Bros. are all pleasing on the eyes.

The graphics can be pretty good, it's just that there are a ton of bad games, and a lot of developers either suck or don't try.

When it comes to actual character models and such, I have to agree that I don't think I've seen a Wii game to match Team Ninja's Xbox offerings (Ninja Gaiden and the Dead or Alive games). That being said, I actually think there are Wii games that have done a superb job with things like level design and have created an overall atmosphere that surpasses those games. For as much of a looker as NG was, there wasn't a lot to interact with, and I think that has to play a factor in all of this. It could also be one of those situations where one looks at this and comes up with a conclusion depending on whether that person is more of a fan of photo-realism or a fantasy-style of visuals. As for Other M, let's remember that this game is still in development, and as long as Team Ninja and Nintendo is trying to tap into the system, I think the results will be pretty darn good once this game is released.

Now, as for the main topic of this thread, it's all about what your expectations are and what games you're looking at. The visuals of the games on the Wii aren't anything you haven't seen before, but there are some titles that can serve as some nice eye candy. Chances are that you won't mind if you're playing some of the best games on the system.

Some games definitely have better graphics than some 360 launch games, but most developers don't care.

If you look at some first party games, they use the Wii's full potential.

Many Wii games have good graphics but compared to the PS3 and Xbox 360 the graphics are inferior. Graphics arent everything anyway many Wii games still have great gameplay without the graphics of the 360 or PS3.

They aren't bad at all.

All of the HD fanboys say "TEH SCREEN IZ EFING BLURRY IT SUX U CANT C ANYTHIN," but I honestly think they are fine.

I play Wii games on a regular TV (not an HD tv) and the graphics are great.

Somewhat ignorant statement considering the Gamecube was more powerful than the original XBOX and had the best graphics of the generation. That game doesn't look particularly good to me, the guy's face is a little sad, I could list off quite a few Wii games that have better graphics.

See that is where I disagree. I picked up a Xbox(Original) earlier this year and games like Halo 2 or Fable look as good as most Wii games. Yes game designed from the ground up for the Wii like Galaxy, Metroid Prime or other ones look better but so many games could be mistaken of last gen.

seriously, the graphic have been good (if proper care is taken) since the last generation. sure, HD is even "awesomer", but it's not a must. the transaction from past gen graphics to the HD graphics wasnt as big as the N64 to the gamecube, for example.

The Wii's graphics pretty much look like gamecube. There might be some games from the first party that look better such as Metroid Prime 3, Mario Galaxy, and so on but mostly from a pure technical perspective you are rebuying GC with a new controller and online that is existent to some degree. The Wii uses the same parts as the GC only a different disc format and that is why it is 100% compatible and you can't go back to the wii menu from a GC game.

When it comes to FPS the graphics are bad. If the game is made by Nintendo there pretty good. I guess the 3rd party developers worry about the ps3 and 360 versions more that the Wii.

I really liked the look of that new Demon Blade game. The Wii can do 2D awesome but 3D not so much (unless Nintendo makes it)

Graphics on Wii games aren't that good but also aren't that bad. They're not a big leaps in terms of quality over gamecube games. I can only think of a handful of Wii games that have really impressive graphics. I think the big problem is that many people are now playing Wii on large (32" or bigger) HD TV's which really doesn't help things. Then things can get rather jaggy and mediocre looking. I think it's essential that the follow up to the Wii has HD graphics.

Yea...this....most people who have 360/PS3 get good games with decent gamplay. But they do not get the variety of games that Wii gets. they just get every FPS/RPG that comes out...not much else.

Wii games can look good, some can look bad. It's all up to the person. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say, I know some people who don't mind the look of Wii games while others constantly complain.

Better than PS2? Yes. Better than GCN? Absolutely. Better than XBOX? Yes. The big problem is few titles can prove it, especially the 3rd party :(

I don't think they're bad at all. I think it got a badreputation from all the PS2 ports it has. But playing games like punch-out and Mario Kart are impressive.

Does it look better with the Blue green and red cables ( i think its that ) then the old red white yellow ones?

Yes. The Wii looks a lot better with the component cable (Red, Green, Blue) than it does with the composite cable (Red, White, Yellow). If your TV set has component inputs, you should get the component cable.

Wii graphs are fine, I haven't complained about them, and it's true that 1st party games have the best of them (Super Mario galaxy, Metroid Prime, Smash Bros, etc), the 3rd parties underestimate Wii's capabilities

I'd like to see on paper / and in real time...proof that the Wii has more power than the Xbox Nvidia chip. The Gamecube/Wii has a faster CPU, but the GPU lags behind by a large margin. Also, memory is still a major hinderance in the WIi's capabilities.

While there is a Wii Graphic forum open, I have one question that I am sure has been asked but I have never seen a good explanation.

I bought a Original Xbox at the first of the year but last month I found out that the Original Xbox could do 720p/1080i. I order Hulk Ultimate Destruction set the Xbox to 720p then tried it out on out HD T.V and you could tell a good difference. Obviously its not like the Next Gen systems but it is HD.

If the Wii is superior to the Xbox is power and since it received an Update to support 720p, why has no one tried it yet? Hulk UD is a very active game with many things on the screen at once but I never saw any frame rate drop, you would think we would at least see it on a less power taxing game. Sorry if this is a dumb question but just looking for an anwser.

While they aren't nearly as amazing as the graphics on both the 360 and PS3, I think they are far from being bad.
