Are there any GOOD reasons for why we have to use friend codes?

This friend code stuff is a bummer. Im gonna be mad if smash bros requires friend codes to play certain modes.

While Nintendo has made up some, i still cant find one or agree with them, ITS CALLED PARENTAL SETTINGS NINTENDO!!!

I like friend codes. It keeps it so that you only play with people that you generally know and it keeps people from using/seeing vulgar and stupid looking screen names.

You're going to see vulgar screenames no matter what.   I play the worldwide mode in Mario Kart DS and have seen every obscene screename and avatar icon thing that I could see.

I don't care, it's there if you just want to play with a particular person, and otherwise it's random if you don't. What else do you need?

When you race someone random online and like playing them, you should be able to add them automatically.  But with the FC system since you don't know that person's code who you just randomly played, you might not see them again.  You should be able to write instant messages to your opponent too.  I'd buy a Wii if they did that.

Hmmm yeah, I see the problem there. There should be better functionality in that case. But I suppose limited online IS better than NO online...

It is the most inconvenient thing ever created. Very stupid Idea. They should have options. I mean, sure its okay for little kids... but the online audience isnt targetted to them, its more so targetted to young adults. It just odnt make sense in my opinion.

I think its dumb.. a different code for EVERY SINGLE GAME ?! now thats lame... CONSOLE CODES. and... it has some ups, but not enough to make me happy, I mean.. EVERY SINGLE GAME that goes online will have its own single code... i say its gay I love playen against people and listening to their screaming in anger at me !!!.... you know.. I'd prolly  be the one yellin' :D
