For turn-based Advanced Wars: DoR is simple and fun. Age of Empires has more depth, but the game can become a grind where it takes turns and turns to advance.

I wish they'd make a Decisive Battles of WW2 for the DS. It'd be nice to have a TBS game where things like supply and flanking your opponents actually matter. Plus, I like that the "levels" have a set number of turns and your score is based on how well you do compared to what really happened. But, I think the only way a game like this would be found on the DS is via homebrew.
