Are These Leaked Photos of the 3DS?

Since nobody else has broached the subject, I suppose I will. Several blogs today have photos of a device......that some are calling "leaked photos of the 3DS." Others are saying the pictures are fake. What do you think?

I tend to think these are fakes, because "leaked photos" I've seen in the past are always poor quality. You can tell the photographer was trying to not get caught taking the pictures. These seem too perfect, with lighting that is too perfect. But here they are for your consideration:

Can you say fake? But it's a really good mock-up (except for the lack of shoulder buttons). Maybe it'll go up on e-bay!

For being a fake (...or I'm asuming it is :P) it looks pretty good to me. Though if it were real, they really need to polish it up :/. Idk about you guys, but it doesn't look very "new" to me. The whole idea and concept is, but the plastic and the buttons and everything look a little dated to me :?.

eh, i don't think they would go with a design like that. how would you even play the thing? if you hold the device by the joystick area, wouldn't you be putting large amounts of pressure and stress on both the device and your wrists (because it would be topheavy)?

I don't think that design would work at all. Aside from the lack of shoulder buttons, it also only has one thumb stick. It's essentially just an awkward PSP with 3D. Also the size is just too much, it's practically an iPad. Cool to see a mock up so early, but I'm sure we'll see the real thing at E3.

It looks unique, yet really awkward to hold. Probably not the real 3DS.

I like the overall idea of it, add L/R, mic and Cameras and make the screen smaller but wait rumors have it it will have two less than 4 inch screens?

this would require a 5 inch screen at least for DS BC

Actually that part does make sense. You just leave the screen vertical to play DS games(it cuts the screen in half) and turn it horizontal for 3DS games. Everything else is wrong with it though.

imagine that, with L/R but the screen smaller, say 5.2 inches and it slides up like a PSP go, but swivels around so that it lays in the middle of the bottom part of the device, thus taking up the middle of it, putting the second screen that is split on the one screen where the second DS screen would be

i can't describe it fully, i can't find the words, but i think it'd work like that

I think this thing looks like total poopie. But onto the reason I quoted you, did you expect that pictures of these special screens would also be 3-D? Not a chance, that is the same as looking at a picture of a DS and not being able to draw on the touch screen. *eyeroll*

Dude. Those tart/select buttons are round. That's all you need to know that it's fake. Nintendo is totally into pointy things these days.

I read in VGChartz that this was supposed to be an April Fools joke but the creator didn't have all ready to post at the day but now he decided to post it anyway.

it's ridiculously fake. not only the official specs clearly reference two screens, but that image is a digital model, rendered and placed over the picture of a table/piece of cloth/whatever that is. the shadow's well done, but they lost it here

also, anyone else who works with gimp/photoshop to a certain level (enough to make decent signatures for forums is more than enough) can see the lighting looks artificial

Not a bad design for a palm pilot. As a game console though it would probably be a big fail. I think it's fake.

Quite a obvious looking fake IMO.

That thing looks like garbage. If it's real, I will lose all faith in Nintendo. Just for a little run down:

-The screen looks way to fragile. Even if you were mega careful, it looks like it would scratch.

-The pivot kind of thing looks so flimsy. It's like it's going to snap under it's own weight.

-Portable? That's portable the same way a dishwasher is portable.

-The button layout is ridiculous. I mean jeez, can you imagine how awkward using the stick and buttons would be? Plus you have to find a way to support that huge screen.
