Seeing all the games developing as we speak, I can't help but get the feeling were at the beginning of a new golden era.

[It seems to me] Fun factors are multiplied by themselves when we constantly get better information on so many great new ideas and games every day. And the goodies aren't slowing down. I've never had this much anticipation.

Wii Music looks amazing. Mario Kart as well. Sonic's in as well. Olympics coming up. Fit on it's way. A new baseball game. Amazing Internet support.

Great stuff Nintendo.

And that'S just a portion of what's coming that you are describing. Yep the future looks great for Nintendo.

Yeah, well it's a new type of technology, something that we haven't seen before and Nintendo isintroducing (or in some cases reintroducing) people to gaming, so it's safe to say that it is a golden age. Maybe it doesn't have the same magic that it did back in the NES days, but it's as close as we're gunna get...well, at least until we see virtual Wii-ality.

I personally think this is happening with all the systems - as gaming becomes a more acceptable pastime for what were non gamers (thanks Nin) and games are breaking records on the fist day sales ( cheers Halo) then we are going to see gaming come out of the dark, preconcived ideas of gamers and into a great new era!

It's a golden age in terms of Nintendo branching out and targeting audiences game companies wouldn't normally target e.g old people, women. I think I read somewhere that over 50% of Wii/DS owners are now female.

i agree with CUDCUD, not this generation, probably the next gen consoles, mainly because Sony corp. and Microsoft Corp. got a slap on the face from Nintendo. so the other corporations next consoles would (should) be like nothing we have ever seen before, and each will try to outdo the other, just so they dont get screwed like what happened this time

The next golden age of gaming is going to be next gen when Nintendo will finally have the support from 3rd parties right in the beggining and they won't get lazy developers. Also Nintendo will have some new innovative stuff. Next gen is the one to be excited about. The Wii is like the NES. Just starting out with new controls. And if I recall the SNES is one of the greatest systems of all time so the next Nintendo system should be a good one, heres hoping....
