I know lots of people are saying that the wii is for the "casual" gamer, but does that mean that the games are too easy? I still don't understand the label the wii is getting because their are a lot of challenging games out their. Try playing Fire Emblem on hard or even normal mode and then tell me if the game is too easy. Or even try Trauma Center and then tell me if you werent sweating at all. I know their are some games that my cats can play but their is still a large number of good, difficult games out their.

So tell my your thoughts on the difficulty of the Wii games.

You could also add Zack & Wiki on your list. It is a difficult game.

Honestly...I do think a majority of them are a bit easy. Although, I've played games for a long time now and games like Zelda and Metroid that should be hard, aren't because the puzzles are second nature to me. EDIT: whoops... didn't know we were comparing the games to those on other consoles... my answer to that is NO

some on the wii are easier for a novice gamer to pick up than on other systems (madden is a good example of this) but just because its easier to pick up doesnt mean all together its easier...its like Othello... A minute to learn, A lifetime to master

RE4 Wii might be a little easier than previous versions, but only because the pointer is faster and more accurate than an analog stick.

I agree that Z&W can be a difficult game. I imagine parents might have bought it for their younger kids because of the graphics, only to have those children become incredibly frustrated.

Every single review I've read/seen on youtube says Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn is almost impossible. In fact, that's the only reason I haven't tried it.

Fire Emblem isn't impossible, as long as you try it out on easy first. I thoroughly enjoy SRPG games like Disgaea and FF Tactics and Fire Emblem is the hardest out of them all due to the fact that once a character is dead, its dead. But that makes you enjoy the game all the more.

I heard that, but some people said its not that difficult. But i think the games (well the ones i played so far) are at a good level, not to easy but not to hard.

Well the only way to get a fair comparison would be to look at games on all three platforms and compare those. In my opinion, the Wii version is usually the hardest because the developer doesn't take the time to refine the controls.

I've found that the 360 shooters tend to be the easiest of the current gen games that I've played so far.

Fact.

Anyway, a game is only really difficult when you don't have enough experience with it. Mario Galaxy was pretty difficult for me to get used to and now it's no big deal.

Street Fighter 3rd Strike, Secret of Mana, Punch Out!! were all incredibly difficult games when I first tried tried them. Now that I've played them for years, I could, with my eyes closed (actually, not really). Hell, I have a friend who can beat Contra without dying once, and I can beat Super Castlevania IV, now, without a GameOver.

Games are generally easier now than they were previous consoles.

I don't think Wii games are the only ones.

I haven't played a lot of Wii games but they aren't very hard. Though any game that requires precision or lots of action with the Wiimote is harder simply because the tech isn't that accurate yet.

it just depends on the game, but a good majority of games on the wii are for casual players, so alot of wii games are easy. But some games have harder learning curves on the wii then on the 360, so i'm not sure.

It's the same as in other consoles, for instance I found SMG easy till I played Ratchet and Clank which is far more easy and a lot shorter.

Most VC titles are pretty hard...
And the popular gamers games on the wii, to me, most are easy or average, but there are a select few that are a whole different challenge. What i find is that its games got a really wide difficulty range. You can make them easy, but if You go for perfect they can be real hard.
MP3 on hyper, Guitar Hero 3 goes from simple to impossible, Trauma Center, last few of Monkey ball, Metal Slug at hard, s'ing every campaign in Battalion Wars, the online in Strikers is rather unforgiving, in Zelda TP the ball minigame, to S everything in RE UC, unlocking everything in Sonic, even going for gold in Sports or Play can make the game go from simpleton to requiring some practise.

I almost thought you were a troll.

Casual Gamer = Someone who wants to game without investing hours upon hours regularly like "harcore" (addicted) gamers. It has nothing to do with skill, but it really gets down to "How short can my periods of playtime be?".

Usually casual gamers are not interested in online competitive games since the time investment is too much for them, and you need that in order to compete or get the full satisfaction of playing (WoW is a prime example.)

And lastly, as mindblowing as it sounds... Casual gamers and Hardcore gamers... Generally play the same games! Shocking, I know. The casual gamer will just take longer to move from one game to the next.

I haven't really been on the boards enough to know the difference between hardcore and casual gamers but I thought the games you play was a factor. I haven't heard about many self proclaimed hardcore gamers play cooking mama.

I found out that Nintendo games have alot of puzzles in thier games IMO. So maybe that could bump up the difficulty level a little than the other consoles?
