Just wondering. I have't even tried one out yet, so some opinions would be nice, or pros and cons.

I have a gamecube, ps2, ps1, and SNES at the moment... I'm not turning this into a battle of the consoles thing, I'm just saying they're all getting pretty outdated besides the PS2. So an update would be nice.

If I get a lot of positive feedback about it I might start saving my extra change for one. They're about $250, right? The price might go down a bit by the time I buy one, anyway.

Thanks. & yeah, I don't expect them to be too great yet. Most launch titles aren't. I can wait, though. I heard there's a mario game that's supposed to be good... I don't even know if it's out yet though..

You sound like a pretty intelligent person. But I'd tell you right now, if you can find one, buy it, if you have the money. Cuz even if you dont want it the demand is so high you wont have a problem pawning it off to someone else. Yeah, basically my advice to people is to wait until the Wii is in stock. I can't advocate waiting in line like I did for whats currently on the system. I love my Wii, and I'm having a blast in it, but I'm a hardcore Ninty fan, average joe would most likely be disappointed. Course with SPM on the horizon, I think this may all change. KILLER APP!

Are you crazy the wii is the ultimate must have gaming console, everyone must have one or lie down and accept the fact that they're not real gamers but posers.

Haha. Thanks. I'm only 14 though. Yeah, I'll probably just get it as soon as I can. I might be able to just borrow some money from my parents and pay them back whenever. That way I don't have to worry about not having enough, or missing a chance to get it. Thanks for the advice. :D

Yeah, like I said before I don't really expect there to be many good games out yet. Otherwise it looks good overall, with the motion-sensor type things... I'm not exactly sure what it's called, but you probably know what I mean. :P Like killerkop said, it'd be easy to sell with the high demand and whatnot, so I might do that if I end up not liking it, then buy a 360 with the profits.

Yes, Zelda is a must have, Wii Sports and Wii Play can entertain you for quite some time and keep challenging you as you get better (unlike most games nowadays), plus there are tons of party games to pick up and play, and more hardcore, deep games will be out soon or by the end of the year. And if you dont like new games, there are tons of old ones to download and play and beat again, or you can use it every day for the news and weather if you dont have cable, or the newspaper, etc. which is probably not likely but anyways, its still a nice addition. There are times when you might not play it for a while, but it just takes 5-10mins to get you hooked again. It will definitely be worth buying.

...I'm a girl. Haha. Oh and just for the record, just because a girl plays video games, that doesn't mean they're ugly and dorky. Trust me, I know quite a few gamers that are girls... and look/act completely 'normal'. :P I probably sound like a dork though, since I'm spelling things right and using grammar. xD I'm not though. Well anyway, thanks everyone, I'll probably buy it. Thanks for the recommendations in games, too. :)

I would NOT recommend buying your Wii from EB Games or Gamestop! They have been known to completely screw over their customers, especially in matters dealing with preorders. I would stick with Best Buy or Toys R Us.

Depends on your personal preference. All of the systems are up for grabs, but the Wii in particular has:

Pros:

An interesting controller

It's much cheaper than the other current systems

It has a decent variety of games, has virtual console (old games from NES, SNES, N64, Sega Genisis, and Sega Turbographix emulated for download) and can also play Gamecube disks

It's shiny and white

Its small, quiet, and uses little energy

I have one and that makes it cool :)

Cons:

No intense shooters or explodey guts games yet

The library might not appeal to you (do some research, just go to the reviews section under Wii)

You might get hurt playing it :P

Ultimately you'll have to make the decision yourself. But I have to say that I'm having a pretty good time with mine.

Not to sterotype or anything, but for a 14 year old female gamer, I honestly can't see the Wii being a bad purchase. The only thing I think would be better suited for that demographic would be a DS. I'm 26, my girlfriend (27) really enjoys the Wii, and I've let her borrow my DS Phat since I got a Lite and she really enjoys it. I know there's quite a bit of an age difference here, but actually after I found out you were 14 I was actually going to say you might perfer a 360 because of the "hardcore mature" games. Not to say you wouldnt enjoy those types of games or anything just cuz your a girl, but my g/f has talked to me about "guy games" so I consider myself "enlightened" Good luck, either way.

I think it's a worthy purchase. Cheap and innovative. But if your into the whole "graphics is the most important part of a game" thing then you might not like it despite the graphics still being relativley good. (IMO)

Well I don't have on yet but I'll get one in april, so yeah I think it's worth it. I don't think the library is too bad (based on reviews) you just need to know wich games to pick. I can only buy 4 games with it so I'm picking godfather, paper mario, zelda and warioware. It should keep me busy until games like mario galaxy and metroid prime arrives cause I don't have much time to play anyways.

I think it definitely worth it to buy a Wii. It's the only REAL next gen console and it's the cheapest on the market. If you,re not sure you want one, I suggest you try to rent one or you go over to a friend who has one. Might be cheap but I think some people just don't enjoy the Wiimote  and still prefer the old fashionned PS or Xbox gamepad.

It's a matter of taste but yeah, I definitely think it's worth buying!

If you already have the other two or one of the other two consoles, I would say it's not worth it right now. There's only a handful of games out there that really stand out. And also, you have to ask yourself what type of games you are into. As of now, the Wii cannot produce mature rated games--ie FarCry and more recently Medal of Honor. The Wii is more situated for the younger crowd. I'd wait down the road when all the hype and novelty wears off. A reason it's selling out so fast is because of all the hype and the "must get" item feel that's going around. If you don't have the other two consoles, I'd get the Wii, esp. if price is something you have to factor in.

Yeah, I've got a DS already. I got it shortly after it came out, and I'm really happy with it. :) As for the ratings of the games, it doesn't make a huge difference as long as it isn't directed specifically to little kids. Although it's sometimes a plus if it's mature, because I actually really like gory shooting games. I'd just prefer to have some Mario and RPGs in my game collection as well. I just like a wide variety of games, I guess. :P There's not much that I don't like, and I'm not against trying things out. Thanks again. :)

Thanks a lot. :) I'll probably see if there are any available in stores near me, and I'll go from there. They're definitely affordable and like I mentioned before, if I don't like it it wouldn't be hard to sell it, with the high demand and whatnot. And yeah... no explodey guts is definitely a con. :'( But that's alright.

Yeah, I've been a little concerned about the games being pretty sucky. Most launch games are. The new Mario game looks good though, but that's not coming out for months. Unless I can find one somewhere near me in a store (I'm not going to go out of my way and order one online just yet), I'll probably do what you suggested and won't get one for a few months, until the novelty is worn off... Then maybe by then Nintendo will be thinking more along the lines of coming out with new, good games rather than producing enough Wii's for everyone. ;)

Definitely get one!  Sure, the launch games are sucky except for zelda, but Super paper Mario is going to be awesome, so those two games will last you untill better games come out like MP3 and SSBB.

i own a 360 ps3 + the wii  when i bought my wii i thought it sucked [over a year of next gen gaming] but then i bought tiger woods and now i couldnt be happier so i recomend it i originally purchased the unit for just the VC but be very selective of the games u choose many suck  zelda tiger woods  trauma center=good      most others bad
