I prefer to buy new games, since I don't buy too many games overall. However, I'll buy used games for the current gen if they come with the box and manual (off of ebay or amazon). I don't like buying used from Gamestop because they usually only have the cartridge and it's pretty beat up.
I'll buy GBA or Gamecube games used, though.
For my old gba, N64, SNES and DS I'd buy USED. For my Gamecube and WII buy new cause I have had problems with used disc's in the passed.UnohuUnless I pre-order the game or its on sale somewhere (and usually most games like that are crappy ones anyways) I go for pre-owned because a good pre-owned DS game that isn't super old and isn't first part usually runs about $25 before EDGE discount, whereas it may be up to $35 new. It just always seems like the money saved on used DS titles is substantial versus buying new.
Both. Perks at gamestop are starting to help me out a lot, I basically get new games for the used price or less (15% off new, 25% off used with card). Sometimes used games are tempting though. For me, its all about condition, if a game plays like new and looks new but is used, I'll get it. falconclanI have to agree that condition plays a role with me too. If the game is used and in great condition and is $10 bucks cheaper why not? I also tend to see if the NDS booklet included in all DS games is in the case, if not I gank one from another used game lol.
I look for it used most of the time. Only if I really want it (or are sure it's a really good game) do I buy it new.
I got 3 games for Christmas - 2 new 1 used.
Both. i usually buy used, because its cheaper! And hey aslong as its in a good enough conditon to play fully without any crashes then im fine! But i do buy some sealed new games, but if they are the old games, you can only get used, so i buy them, luckly in Wigston, which is in Leicester, and Leicester is in England.Theres a Gameshop called GameWorld, normally i do trade in sometimes, just to get some preowned PC games or DS games, or whatever and they are normally in good condition, apart from some of the PC games, having a small unnoticable hardly effecting sratch, normally do fine for me!
But for B-days and Christmas i always get new games, no used!!! Because if theres any used games, they will put prices down and go Xmas offer!!! And they won't be the best of condition and at some shops you can get the new CoD on DS for like £20, if it is used £10, i would spend £10 more, because its ment to be present not a hand-down! I only rarely buy Used-games on B-days and Christmas, if they are hard to find and other prices are insanely high on the net!

pretty much mine too. i buy new alot, but thats because half the time i buy the day something is released. i buy used games if they're easier to find or cheaper. im not gonna get online to buy a new copy when im looking at a used one in gamestop.
Since I don't keep my games in the case once I own them and I don't impulse-buy games anymore (and only in the case of the DS because of the cart format - disc formats still receive all respect from me and are pampered), I put the games in my carrying bag, I generally lean towards the Used side... plus I'm not an early adopter so there are a TON of "old" games that're new to me. By the time the current games are "old" I'll get them too, and at a cheaper sell-through price even if they're still shrink wrapped new-old stock. The only title I've ever been stopped cold on finding used was "ElectroPlankton", and I'm not all that busted up about it... just woulda been nice, because I love trippy do-nothing games like that. But you'll all eventually trade in that copy of "TWEWY" or another popular title that I'd like to play eventually, and then I pounce.

Currently, I buy used game cuz in my country (Latin America) videogames are quite expensive. (Only for those series that I luv, I make the effort to purchase brand new). By the way, my version for Starman motto is: "As long as it works, and the game comes with the manual, original box and cover; it is a good deal!!"
