i dont know if its just my shifting interest of games, or new game releases, or the I DONT FEEL LIKE PLAYING IT complex. but for some reason i have the disease known as incomplete game syndrome (currently okami). you know that game in your collection that you've had for MONTHS but for some reason you just cannot get to that penultimate moment of the game. maybe you have too many games in rotation or those new games are just to sweet to not buy/play.

but this is a problem that needs to be fixed, b/c im sure there are boatloads of wii-users who complain about no games, when the games in their collection show a save file of chapter 2. in all seriousness, the best part of a game is usually the ending. everything just unravels into a gaming euphoria and you get that feeling of fruition, b/c those last 40+ hrs finally make sense. but your selling yourself short b/c you dont play it to see what those memorable gaming moment are. so do yourself a favor and complete a game....so you can tell me what happened;)

no but seriously, beat a game

and what the hell....post the last game you completed on wii

i agree. its not like its a bad game. its just so happens that ToS2 and SkateIt came out and i cant even put that game near my hd. its a beautiful game and all, totally thrilling but i cant get to the end. i love that its taking me time to beat it though. instead of blasting through it. it gives okami value

I have had IGS for quite a few years now. The last game I completed on the Wii was World of Goo. But, of the games that aren't WiiWare or VC I've only beat Mario Kart Wii, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Mario Galaxy and Guitar Hero III. And, I use beat loosely because that doesn't mean 100% completion or unlocking everything. But, I figure I'll get around to beating my games. It only took me from Half-Life's 2 release to last weekend for me to beat that game. It only took me 4 years. :D

WHAT THE FOXTRAP!!!! 4 years. thats dedication right there. but i have a confession to make. i have a game thats taken over two decades to play but i STILL havent beaten it. the original SMB. i have phailed to beat that game. since its on wiiware its a meritable game. i actually have it on wiiware and i always die around 8-1 8-2. that games stupid hard. i feel less of a gamer when i mention this:(

I'm definitely a victim of IGS, but I do not think it it my fault. There is just too much going on in my life for me to not be a victim of it. Turns out I already wrote my response to this thread in my blog.:P  I am from the future.

Yes, I almost never beat my games. It's not just video games either....

I often lose interest in certain songs, instruments, and anime.

Yes, I am certainly a victim of IGS. It took me 5 months apiece to beat Wind Waker and OoT on the Wii. I straight-up said NO to Zack & Wiki; that game got mad hard real fast and I felt that it wasn't worth the effort. I still haven't beaten Wario Land, and I got it in the middle of October, which is pathetic considering that the entire game only lasts 5 hours. But I try to finish games, I really do. At the moment I'm juggling Okami, Wario Land, and de Blob, so I might be done with one of these games before New Years.

Yes and no. I suffer from, "if you beat it before I do, I don't want to play it anymore" syndrome. My girlfriend beat Super Mario Galaxy before I did, and my brother finished Metroid Prime Corruption before I did, and I stopped playing both games. But, I've finished Half-Life 1/2, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Trauma Center, etc.

Oh yeah, I've got this problem bad. Mostly just with VC and WiiWare downloads. For example, I usually don't put a game like Twilight Princess down until I beat it, but I have just craploads of unbeaten (not sure if that's a word) VC games clogging my wii's memory. Paper Mario is a big one. I just got to a point where I just got so frustrated with a boss that I stopped playing it. Haven't touched in months and have absolutly no desire to fire it back up.

Actually the only game that comes to mind was Super Mario Sunshine... I could get all the way up to this one level on a beach with this teal and yellow stuff all over the beach and I just couldn't beat it... So I gave up. Than started a whole new file and got all the way up to that point again. And just gave up.. Lol... Kinda sad..

The last game I beat was Zelda: Wind Waker. Now I'm playing Pikmin 2 (because Pikmin 1 just won't work, it has to many scratches on it, but I'll fix it soon.). After Pikmin 2, if P1 isn't working, then I'll probably play all the VC games I have to beat, namely Paper Mario, Super Mario RPG, Donkey Kong Country, & Kirby 64. Then I never finished Star Wars: Kotor or Kotor 2. I never fully beat Republic Commando. Wait! The last game I beat was Halo 1 (I had to endure the final level myself because my sister doesn't like the graphics). Lets see... What else... There's also Star Wars Episode III for Xbox. I haven't beat The Force Unleashed on Sith Master difficulty yet. Can you even beat the original Super Mario Bros.? I have my work cut out for me (most certainly with Kotor.) Wish me luck, Gamspot! Oh! I still need to get all the stars in Super Mario Galaxy.

It's not. But it's a side affect of when I play games. If someone beats the game before I do, I kind of lose the will to play. Mainly because I know how the game will end. It happened to me when everyone read the final Harry Potter book and spoiled it for me. I still have not read it.

Yeah. I guess fully upgrading your house and Nook's shop would sort of qualify as beating it. Just a thought.

back when I was growing up that was very common. If someone finished a game it felt like the game was beaten. You wouldn't hammer a nail that's already been nailed in, would you? That's mainly with epic games. Games that were just pure fun like mariokart didn't have that issue. ps. to the guy who says he never got to the end of OoT, you're missing out on one of the most epic last acts in video game history

I absolutely love Fire Emblem games. It's one of my favorite series, but I haven't played Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn in.... I can't even remember the last time I played it. I like the game and everything, but I just don't play it.

Yeah, i have IGS. I buy more games than i play, and i buy mostly RPGs, so they almost never get finished. It's not that i don;t like the games, i mean i only buy games and keep that i like, but i go into certain 'moods' i guess, where i can't be bothered playing games. The only Wii game i haven;t finished yet is Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, which i haven;t played since about two onths ago.

The game i have spent the longest trying to finish is Wild Arms 3, playing it for about five years now, and i just haven't finished it. The problem is, i don't know where to go or what to do (because, over time, i've forgotten) so whenever i play it, i spend about an hour wandering around, confused because the world map is too frickin' big and there's no way to tell where you need to go. I really really like the game, but i just haven't been able to finish it.

In 4 months of having a Wii I'm 16 out 24 on beating Wii Games. The last one I beat was Lego Star Wars. I sorta have 4 or so RPGs to get through on PS2 though, doh!

Depends on the game and the point in the game I'm at. It's always the tedious tasks or whatever in the game that makes me less motivated to continue for a while. But if I get hooked on a game like I did on Okami I will play for hours whenever I can and explore every nook and crany I can.
