Yeah, the first one wasn't that great.

Let's look at the benefits of that game though

1.)Interesting control scheme (flipping stuff for cover was great)

2.)Sword combat was an interesting addition (weak execution)

3.)The use of the Unreal 2.5 engine on the Wii (although the graphics weren't amazing).

4.)Multiplayer was interesting especially the cell phone thing. That was great.

Stuff like this that was mediocre in the first game was great in theory. I think that if Ubi really puts some effort into this, this will be a great shooter for the Wii.

I'm very excited about it. Red Steel presented a lot of new and innovative ideas, it just needed a few more months to iron things out. I'll buy RS2 most likely. (RS has a fantastic soundtrack btw)

No, Red Steel is one of the reasons I've become disinterested in the Wii as a whole. It was truly a disgrace imo.

yes but I want

1.fixed control scheme with controls like moh2 with gun gestures and stuff and better sword combat if possible 1:1

2. great graphics with variety in character models nice looking indoor/outdoor environments and great special f/x and make the maps big

3. way better voice overs keep the great music make the story way better

4.great online with no lag lots of maps, customization in the characters and voice chat (please) 32 players hopefully

5.and finally take your time with it dont rush I would like to see them give it to the graw team or rainbow six team but just make it as good as possible if they don't I know they could do A great job well, hopefully anyway

No, but it's a chance for Ubi to redeem themselves. Although, it'll probably be a average game.

Ubisoft still doesn't take the Wii seriously. 1st game was not all it was cracked up to be, and every other game they've made is trash, barring 1 well-scoring minigame fest. :/ (note: Ubi did not make No More Heroes, they published it. Suda deserves all credit for that game)

Their "apology" was obviously just PR and they still put trash dev teams on the Wii while saving the good stuff (RSV2) for other consoles.

As long as they get rid of the bugs and fix the controls, graphics, cutscenes (actual cutscenes instead of stills), and voice acting, I'll probably get it. Also, putting it online is pretty much a must. Despite what most reviewers said, I found it to be an ok game; wasn't great, but it didn't totally suck! C grade game...C+ on some levels.

I wouldnt say that I was excited, or even hyped for it, but I am keeping my eye on it. The first Red Steel was pretty bad but I did have fun beating my mates in MP. If they can make it work, and it gets an average of at least 72%, then I might consider buying it.

i will say this...Red Steel was probably the best incomplete rushed to shelves game i've played....if they take their time with this one, and smooth out what was wrong with the original, then I think it will definitely be a good game

woah! whats with all the negative redsteel comments? am i missing something here? i played this game back in december of 2006 and i thought it was brilliant. pretty much after enjoying the mutliplayer w/ friends and being blown away by the precision of wiimote aiming, i decided that im getting a wii. yep, it was this game that convinced me to get a wii. and redsteel was my first game too. my friends and i liked it back then, we still play it, and prolly will until the next best offline multiplayer shooter is released.

so yeah, im excited for redsteel 2 and hopeful that timesplitters 4 also makes its way onto the wii. as for the ppl that bash this game, too bad for u...but that means more copies for the rest of us!

I don't understand why everyone's saying the Graphics were crappy, because they really weren't :

RS sold 1 million. Of course Ubi will put effort into RS2. Plus I heard RS2 was ready but they scrapped and sacked some workers and starting all over.

Despite the controls and graphics and everything else that it gets criticized for, my biggest problem with Red Steel was that it was boring...

But, I do see potential and am optimistic for the second one.

Just one thing Ubi, either provide a reason for the swordfighting, or get rid of it altogether...

Remember last gen? how the only console ubisoft could develope games worth a crap for was the Xbox.. and how they absolutely COULD NOT port those awesome games to Ps2 and gamecube because they we're just unwilling to adjust to the weaker hardware? well the Wii is the weakest link of this gen and therefore Ubi will NEVER be able to make a decent game for the system.. says I, the end... French morons. (they aren't even really french! they're French Canadian.. it's disgusting.)

That's another gripe of mine I had when I first picked up the game. Why, when I'm carrying a shotgun and an uzi, do I have to put down my best weapons to sword fight some generic thug? I mean, for actual boss fights, it's acceptable. To fit in with the story, they could goad your character, calling him a "cowardly gaijin" and throwing his "lack of honor" into it, or something. But to just put away your guns for some guy running around the corner with a katana...in real life, that's when you're reaching for your handgun, not putting it away!

See RS was cool because its concept was genious.

It "claimed" to have a balanced sword and gun fighting frenzy.

They should really work on this concept and make it so swords and guns can be used at anay time but the AI will basically force you to use the proper weapon. Have 1 : 1 control, I know they can do it. Improve the visuals for heavens sake. They would show us specific shots that looked amazing in early pics and then when they game came out it looked terrible. Controls need to be remapped not just motions but buttons. For the sniper they should improve upon the idea used in Moh where you turned the Wiimote to zoom but you need to hold a button to turn it first because it was a pain to hold the Wiimote in that position. Multiplayer needs to be huge online, leaderboards, tournaments, universal FCs, voice chat, loads of modes, and 16 players.

You want an AAA thqts how you do it.

if they really wanna be cool they could allow the sword and guns to be used at any time. That way its like using the Plasma sword in Halo where its only good if you are close to the person.

The second Ubisoft develops (DEVELOPS, not publish) a good game on the Wii, I will trust them.

So far they have only developed crap and their apalogies are empty promises, I don't get why anyway trusts them until they have proven themself.

The first one just disapointed me too much on too many fronts. Sword combat was lame, controls made me feel sick and nothing about the game was too interesting. I would have to see more about the game before i care about it at all.

The funny thing about this is Ubioft has a gold mine on their hands. This is the most quick cash in series of the centuary and it hit platinum.

If they worked half as hard on this as they did AC they would of had even bigger turnouts.
